Yeah it's always a pain to have to remove it because you have to undo everything in the computer to get to the motherboard. The only reason I'm looking at the open box options is because I have no job and scrambling to put together $11,000 for college for 2012-2013 :/ I'm a broke college student lol

If I could get that amazing 5 year warranty I would go for it instantly.

waiting for more info before i recommend them again

That's another problem I've seen because some ppl don't return all the parts in the box so the next customer to get a perfectly working board gets screwed on accessories. It's not that big a deal because the sata cables are dirt cheap at Monoprice.com and I have like 6 extras right now. The manual should be online so that's easy. The crossfire connector would be a bit expensive maybe and the I/O plate could be annoying if it isn't included. Other than that I could live I think. tongue.gif

I like the idea of saving $35 on the board but I'm still not sure whether or not the 5 year warranty comes with the board. If it did and all I had to do was register the board with Asus I would do it in a heartbeat. If not then I'm looking at a 30 day warranty and I would have to push the board to it's limits to make sure it would work correctly in the 30 days I have to stress test.

I have found it on Newegg's open box section and I really would like newegg compared to geeks.com so I'll probably get it from there.

Nice! Usually the driver included in the box is the old ones tongue.gif I haven't ever used it but that's great to hear that they do stuff like that for their customers.

I hear ya brother. I was a broke gamer for a while myself and aint exactly rolling in cash now. You dont have to spend $200 to get a good motherboard. Unless youre planning on doing some insane overclocking, a good $100-125 board would be more than enough and have a good enough build quality to last and plenty of features to play with. This Asus 880G AM3+ would be a great board for $120 shipped. Its rated for 140 watt CPU's so itll handle a solid overclock. Has onboard graphics which I think are a nice insurance policy should your GPU crap out. Youll have something to use til you get it replaced. It doesnt have the UEFI BIOS but Im sure its still got plenty of overclocking features and toys to play with. Hard to beat dollar for dollar.

I got a Used Asus M4 890. Claimed to be working like NEW, turns out half the Fan headers don't work! Including the one for the CPU!
Told the buyer, (never heard from again). I agree but a new one and the most expensive one. Motherboards are the main of you rig and should be in the best quality possible NEW! thumb.gif

Yeah that board is decent but it's right about the same as what I have right now (M4A88T-V evo) and it's just not cutting it because there is no sata3, only the 880 chipset which is kinda old, and no sli support in case I can pick up another gtx 460 for sli. Plus the board I have isn't quite delivering power as well as I would like and runs a little hot for what I need it to do. But alas I'll have to live till I can upgrade to the sabertooth or the crosshair.

I think it would be worth the wait to get something the caliber of the Sabertooth, especially if you enjoy overclocking and really cranking on your rig. Coming from a midrange/entry level board to this high performance board, its night and day and money well spent.

Yeah I completely agree. I would have gone with something a little better had I known what I know now but for my first time building an official rig rather than the crap off of dell.com biggrin.gif I would have gone with something a lot better for what I need. I like to overclock my rig only because I have a 30% faster cpu and the possibility of a faster gpu once I overclock it. I love this type of stuff so it's definitely worth it in the end.
