i7 920 vs i5 2500K

Thread Starter
I have my i7 920 overclocked to 2.8 GHz with turbo boost on so it's very similar to an i7 930.
which one folds SMP faster?
(assume the i7 920 is at 2.8 GHz and the i5 2500K is at 3.3 GHz both with turbo boost enabled)

also, why would you fold on CPU when folding with GPU seems to be more efficient?

lolwut? that's the exact opposite. if you want to be more efficient PPD:watt then CPU folding is the way to go. GPU folding will be horrible on your electric bill. i may not be a long time folder but I did get 1million + points before quitting tongue.gif

a dedicated folding rig with an overclocked i7 2600k would be the most efficient machine atm.

i7 920 > i5 2500K > i7 2600K > Opteron 2p/4p 6000 series cpu > supercomputer (HPCS)..rolleyes.gif

who said gpu more efficient..?? for ppd/watt cpu wins more..but if you compapre older generation cpu then yes, gpu wins...thumb.gif
