Connecting Front Panel Connectors to Sound Card = Loss in Quality?

So if I can connect my Storm Scouts front panel connector to my Xonar DG and connect my Vengeance 1300 to the front panel connectors, would I notice a loss in sound quality?

i use the front panel connectors on my 600T with my xonar DG and notice no drop in quality.

whats wrong with it? be sure that onboard is disabled in the bios and make sure you are selecting FP headphone/speakers or set it up to auto detect.

Perhaps it's a windows 7 setting? The option for front mic is available for my microphone in the recording tab.
