Can't find another GTX 460 FTW to SLI

Guys,

Need you some help and I'm not sure what my options are here. I just got a new rig and my new motherboard can handle SLI. I got a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 motherboard and a hefty Corsair 750W CMPSU-750TXV2. My issue is that I am having a problem finding another EVGA 460 FTW EE card for my setup! Does my SLI setup have to be the exact same match of GPU? There are several different version of the GTX 460 and I am afraid I will not be able to find another one that is identical to mine. Any thoughts where I could find one? Someone on the boards here just sold one a few days ago, just missed it ):

Thanks!

aslong as it's a 256-bit version you can SLI it with a 768mb version or the 1GB version.

most of the 460's on the market are 192-bit so becareful when looking for another 460 smile.gif i been looking for the 460 SSC+ Backplate version to match it with mine or a 460 FTW EE since there both the same on core clock and only 100mhz difference on memory (SSC has 3900 while FTW has 4000) biggrin.gif

The brand doesn't matter but you have to pair it with one of the same memory size.

Ok yeah I have the EVGA 460 1GB GDDR5 EE. So it MUST be one that's a 1GB GDDR5 memory? I was just making sure that I could get one that was not FTW version and it would be OK, I would keep the memory the same too.

grab any 1 GB GTX460 and it will sli just fine. the thing is that when you SLI they cards default to the clocks of the lesser card but you can change that via MSI afterburner to bring them both to your FTW clocks or even further

The things you need to make sure are that it is a GTX460 1Gb 256-bit and not a "GTX460v2 1Gb 192-bit" or a "GTX460 768Mb 192-bit" or a "GTX460SE 1Gb 256-bit". If you get a GTX460 1Gb 256-bit then it will SLI with your card no matter the brand or speeds of the new card.

GTX460 1Gb 256-bit
If all else fails post back here with a link to the card you want to buy and I'll tell you if you can SLI it. smile.gif

Actually I just looked it up to make sure I was right even though I'm sure I read it before, but people are giving mixed answers, most are saying what I thought, but a few people say that just the memory bandwidth needs to be the same. So I don't know, there's no reason to get a 768mb card though anyways unless you could find one for significantly cheaper.

Yea some people in here don't know what they're talking about. I tried to cover all the crappy versions of the 460 that Nvidia tries to convince people to buy that he needs to stay away from.
