lol the temptation is great.
I suppose it really all comes down to what we want from our rigs. I am much of the opinion of if it runs my games then its suitable. Some of the lads n lassies are genuine enthusiasts on here and will throw extra bucks at these rigs for that little more performance and prestige. Simple analogy is the people carrier versus the sports car. I know which one I would like for the wow factor but the people carrier will get me from A 2 B just the same, they are functionally the same.
Confused ? I got to stop afternoon drinking.
Anyway Blade based on your requirements, affordability and the current transitions in technology I would say your approach is the best. I seriously don't see a quick switch in game design to DX10. It will be the usual phase in which I think will take at least a year.
My opinion but still open to suggestions.=
mind you I would like the reassurance that my rig isn't redundant after a year but hey when AMD 64 bit CPU's came onto market after I just bought my p4 3gig I was raging. I thought I was going to miss out on so much. Well it ended up not affecting me in the slightest over the period of the last 4 years.
