hey guys i tried everything to OC my 1090t on stock fan until i get my new fan, but im having no luck, and i think it maybe my mobo holding me back, seems like no matter what setting i use, after few hours of prime i keep getting a BSOD x 124, i tested my memory with windows mem test in dos and it passed, but i think it maybe my ram but not totally sure.

ive ran prime with 3.4@1.337v cpu-nb@2600mhz@1.275v and ram at 1600mhz@9-9-9-24@1.66v failed after 4-5 hours
i tried 3.4@1.337v cpu-nb@auto and volts at auto, and ramp 1600mhz@9-9-9-24@1.66v it failed after prime with a 124 BSOD.
now atm im trying 3.4@1.35v and thats it to see if it passes prime..

my pc parts

CPU- 1090t BE
MOBO- M4A79XTD EVO
RAM- ADATA gaming series 1600mhz@9-9-9-24@1,55-1.75v
PSU - CoolMax CTI-700B 700W

i may pick up ram tomorrow, im not sure if the ram i have atm is supported or not i cant ffind my MOBO book:(. but ive been told that my mobo doesnt like to OC and ideas what to replace so i can overclock some, i hate the fact that i have this chip and i cant play with the settings... thx foryour time guys..

so what should i upgrade with a budget of 100-250$

cause for somereason atm i cant OC with this current hardware

I don't know how reliable windows mem test is, try memtest86 bootable. That should make sure your memory isn't the issue. Run it at stock settings.

First, you need to drop that board. I used to have one and while its a great board for a basic system, it is kept me from doing anything spiffy with the overclock on my 955.

My advice to you is wait until you have a better cooler. Once you have that you should keep the RAM at its stock timings. disable CnQ(Cool N Quiet) in the BIOS, and give it more NB!!!! you should be trying for 2800. I'm afraid you won't be able to add enough voltage to the CPU/NB AND the CPU to get it stable at anything with the stock cooler.

:thinking.gif: that looks like a solid board..your psu is unspecific..if it's an ultra lsp..i'd upgrade that..1st
adata rams aren't known for being the bestest

Ok..checked out your psu..3 split 16a rails thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

you should start with a 750-800w unit with all the amps on a single rail
silverstone..thermaltake..some rosewill..antec..corsair....
go to the egg and bring up the pics of the sides of the psus
it's a quick way to tell if they're solid or not

I bet your comp just restarts when you start overclocking

try this . . .

try this quick & dirty steps . .
- go back to bios and set everything to default
- disable the following - C1E, Turbo, HT, and Cool & Quiet
- set your vcore to 1.38v or 1.4v (try 1.38 first)
- raise your Multiplier to 16
- the fsb should be at 250
- save and exit.

stock cooling? Watch your temps.

you need to take your time and read . . .

When I had my 955 and that ASUS board the first upgrade I made was to a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3, went from not being able to hold a stable OC to being able to hold 4.0Ghz and 2800 NB easy. I am still working on trying to get 4.2 stable on air cooling:) the mobo is about 150 or so off newegg, and helped my overclocking 10 fold.

What kid of RAM kit is your ADATA kit? is it a 2x4 or 4x2 or what?
