Lol that was a smart answer really because he still answered your question but then didn't give out any specific time frame. They're planning to make people hold on buying the new 79xx cards imo.

You should find out if NVIDIA gets paid hourly or on salary. Then you can tell if its 12 weeks or 6 months.

28% improvement on CUDA performance over the 580 doesn't sound that impressive especially if this is the top card they're offering

I agree. I don't think they would have demoed anything but the top-end Kepler card, so 28% increase in CUDA seems a bit low. Considering how well the 7970 performs in compute tasks, that 28% doesn't look too promising for Nvidia (in terms of decisively beating the 7970). My hope is that the flagship Kepler is within 10% as fast as the 7970 and undercuts the 7970's price.

Depends entirely if this is at stock, I presume it is. If the overclocking headroom on this new card is any good then we can expect 35-50% perhaps Hopefully on air but nvidia cards tend to run hotter than there ati counterparts.

If these new cards out perform ati's 7970 then its almost guaranteed they will be more expensive, nvidia are well known for bloated prices unfortunately mad.gif

I'm guessing $600-650 for the top card

The card was a ES they mentioned. Not sure how soon their ES is final silicon though.

Final thoughts I should mention before heading back over, the card was 6+6 for power. Not sure if that is the top tier with just that.
