hello i need upgrade help :)

Hi all

ok i am looking to upgrade from my ati 9550 hehe and i have bin looking at 2 cards but i am not sure if one realy better then the other.

so we got the

XFX GEFORCE 6800XT EXTREME 256MB AGP 4/8X VERSION
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...category=67864

and the

BFG GEFORCE 7600 GS OC 512MB DDR2 AGP GRAPHICS CARD 512
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BFG-GEFORCE-76...QQcmdZViewItem

now i am not sure if the 7600 has 256bit Memory Bus?

i could go for a 7800 but i don't wish to spend to much on agp cards i just need a little upgrade for now to keep me going hehe.

i like the look of the xfx as the 7600 looks realy plain lol.

thanks for any help. cheers

oh i forgot to add that my psu is this one
http://www.savastore.com/productinfo...d=207&rstrat=0

it ran 1600pro ok but i am not sure if them 2 cards use more power.

thx

i think i put this in the wrong place if anyone could move to where it's ment to be thanks.

I guess if you can afford a 7600GS AGP you could go for it... unless that 6800XT is unlockable..

I wouldn't recommend ATi's X8xx-series, they can't do Shader Model 3.0, which most games currently have. Even a 128Mb 6600GT outperforms the 256Mb 6800XT so I wouldn't recommend that either. 7600GS is right between the 6800GS and 6800XT in performance, so it isn't bad at all considering that it's extremely low in price. Go for it.

i would recommend the 6800gt agp by leadtek. the only people that still sell it.. its only 165$ with shippin and handeling. but i would get the 7800gs personally because of some 7 series updates. both cards are good depends on budget here are 2 links http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16814122195R thats the 6800gt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130269 thats the 7800gs

That's quite some money to invest in an AGP rig. I would have been thinking about upgrading the whole rig and see if I could afford a PCI-E set up

This is a good PSU for your rig:
Hiper HPU-4M580 Type R 580W ATX2.2 PSU - Black (CA-009-HP) £52.86 Including VAT at 17.5% (3rd from top).

You could check out those modular ones on the same page
