I agree with astra though, avoid Sony's if you can. The Yamaha you've picked should do fine, so long as its got the connections and features you require. I've got the Yamaha RX-V467BL myself (5.1 or 7.1 with preamps), and I love mine to death. Running 7.1 off it with a spare Pioneer amplifier I had laying around.
its in my basement i will take a more in dept video of it later. Well now since you have a idea of the price range can you tell me a good one
I'm honestly really happy with mine:
Since the price between the used and new ones is very little, I'd go to the new one personally. I got mine brand new off TigerDirect about 8 months ago for $199.
Make note, that this receiver, in order to properly use 7.1...you'll need to use HDMI inputs, and you WILL need a 2 channel amplifier to drive the rear speakers. You can use a Lepai TA2020 to do that easily enough for $21 off Parts Express.
Nevermind, this year's model doesn't have 7.1 pre outs.Edited by pioneerisloud - 2/6/12 at 8:04am
