i5-2310 or i5-2320.

Though for HTPC even CPU like i3-2105 is more than enough.

its an htpc/family computer. So simple stuff, and adobe (soundbooth and photoshop) would be the main usage of it, if not general web browsing. So I was thinking a 4core cpu would be better for that. Or is an i3 good enough? Im gonna wait for ivy bridge cause it has hd4000 integrated and it's in same price range so just scouting atm wink.gif

Ah. With Photoshop and other workstation application, a true quad core like i5 makes sense. i3 is a dual core with hyperthread, so its performance is between dual core and quad core. i3 will be enough for above tasks, with i5 being more future proof.

okay well thank you very much for the help! I will wait for an ivy bridge i5 and buy a low end one. Sometimes these decisions are hard to make without any other view points lol.

Right now my i5 2500K stock is great, though I am upgrading to an i7 ivy bridge CPU when they are released, 8 threads = beast for my photo editing.
