Thread Starter
Anybody, really know anything about these?Or is anyone here using one?
I went ahead and ordered a new computer early this morning.
Turns out that it has a micro-atx power supply. And the motherboard is micro formfactor.I'am trying to find out;if anyone here can help me find a real, real good micro-atx PSU.That'll work inside my PC?Or should I just go ahead and order 1 of these FSP X3 Booster power supplys.

Here's the computer,that I ordered this morning.I got it from www.jr.com
http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4090756

And here's my motherboard and other PC information:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...name=c00647121

Info on the power supply in it currently:
Form factor Micro ATX size form factor, 9.6 in x 9.6 in

unit in my pc suppositly now:
Form factor Micro ATX size form factor, 9.6 in x 9.6 in
5188-2625 43.00 Power supply - 300-watt (Merlot C) regulated

Information & review on the FSP X3 Booster

Yes,it's a deticated graphics card power supply.Just read some of the reviews. It explains it.But,I'd prefer a PSU.That'll work in my HP.

The unit is SLI certified to run Quad SLI so I think it will supply more then enough juice to any graphics card...I have heard good things about it but have no first hand experience. Check out this link:

that booster will do you no good unless you have a high power gfx card
youd be better off replacing the entire psu

I guess you found out already but micro atx motherboard does not mean micro atx PSU. It does in fact have a full size PSU

No that fool of a tech gave me all this info.Stating my PSU is micro

And that booster can stay where it is.
I'am looking at these:
Seasonic M12
Seasonic S12-500
OCZ GameXStream 600w
Enermax Liberty 500
Corsair 520

I think you are WAY over-estimating how big of a PSU you need. Look what my little seasonic 430w runs. It powers a way more demanding system than yours.

I think for your purposes I would get a seasonic 380w if I were you. That would allow a decent graphics upgrade in the future.
