It's not from expanding copper lines. Were you serious?

Anyways, I have had this problem due to lame contractors. The noise happens when you change the valve size. In this case from the copper pipes you use hose to connect to the faucet. Anyways, contractor used for example 3/8 reduced tubing when copper is 1/2 ID. I can't remember what the actual sizes are right now, maybe it was 3/4 to 1/2, etc... I forget, but I had to go out and change the hoses and that fixed the issue. My neighbor is a plumber. He was like duh, shakes head, curses under breathe, and told me to change my hoses lol.

Yes I am serious. What I'm referring to is the clicking sound sometimes heard through the drywall caused by the plubming.See here. I know it talks about PVC, but the same is true of copper piping.

You fix that earthquake clanging with a water hammer. Anyways that's not the noise I mentioned.

I have 1/2ID tubing going from my reservoir to the pump and to a y-splitter after the pump. Rest of the loop is 3/8 tubing and I cant hear any noise except the usual from fans and pump. This is with a Iwaki RD-20@22V so if anyone should hear something it would be me, but I dont tongue.gif

Honestly, that concern is unfounded at the water pressures we are dealing with.

I have over 60 feet of 1/4" ID (honestly, no one in their right mind uses tubing this small) that connects to ~5 feet of 1/2" ID tubing. In addition I have 3 DDC1's so the water pressure is higher than your typical loop; yet I hear nothing whatsoever. Have no fear whatsoever. thumb.gif

60feet of tubing and 3 DDC1, is that system noisy?

I would imagin 3 pump putting alot of noise so any tubing noise is not heard over the pumps
