iPhone won't play music....

.... I've ran into this problem several times. I know what it is but I haven't found a less time consuming fix yet. Next is the Apple Store. Either way, I use iCloud for my backups/syncs I don't use a PC. I just installed iTunes on my computer and I plugged in my phone. Only to play music in my iTunes library and use my PC to charge my phone. Well it killed my ability to play songs. This has happened on my laptop too. I'm thinking it's DRM or authorized computer issue. It never syncs or does a backup. It only lets me know its backing up to iCloud. Anyway, the only way to fix the issue is to backup my phone. Then restore the iOS software and backup.

My question is, has this happened to anyone else before? I know how to fix it but it's 1-2hours of a restoring everything.

Are you able to sync the iPhone with iTunes? If not, have you tried changing it so it backs up not with iCloud but with iTunes? The music does play in your iTunes library right? Just not on the phone?

Is the music you want to play on your iPhone sync'd to your iPhone or are you trying to use Home Sharing to stream the music from your computer?
