question about dual screen setup w/ crossfire

i'd like to buy a second monitor for extended desktop use, however i'm currently running 2x6870s and not sure how it would work. i've heard that if i use extended desktop and play a game in xfire, vsync will cap the game at 30fps instead of 60. is this true?

Not true and it's unrelated.

You just plug in the second monitor to the primary card. Both monitors must be hooked up to primary card or crossfire will be disabled.

If you want to play on one monitor, go to Windows Screen and Resolution to set this gaming monitor as primary. The second one will be in Extended Desktop by default.

There won't be any difference having 2 monitors or more if you play on single screen. It has nothing to do with V-sync.

If this is one your cards, you can only use 1 DVI port and the other monitor to HDMI port of the top card without having to get additional DVI-HDMI Adapter. Unless it's supplied with your cards.

Yes, VGA is not a digital connection. Go with HDMI to DVI.
