Batman: AA crashes my computer!!

Thread Starter
I'm having this annoying issue where if I play it with the settings set to the highest (with no Physix and 4x AA,) I will still get around 55 FPS and not have any artifacts, but after around 5 minutes, the game will freeze, artifacts will move across the screen, and the sound loops. The only way I can play it is to set the settings to low, but the game would be much more enjoyable with the settings turned up. smile.gif

Also, this is the ONLY game which I have problems with, out of my ~80 Steam games.

Can anyone help me? So far I've tried different recent drivers with/without clean installs.

All help is appreciated!

Sounds like your GPU is unstable, try upping the voltage a little or lowering your clockspeed.

Edit: In fact, it's probably overheating due to dust build-up or old thermal paste. Have you dusted it or replaced your TIM recently?

I doubt it's a heat issue, doesn't overheat, and every single other game besides this one works fine.

Oh right, well do you have other physX games?
If not it could be something about physX causing it.
I'm guessing you probably do though with 80 games on your account, I can't really help if so.

I need to learn to read, you play without physx. Sorry, I'll leave now. tongue.gif

Don't worry about it, and thanks anyways. smile.gif

Had Afterburner running with a custom fan profile, temps were ~65C, and crashed after about 30 minutes.

It does sound like a problem with the game itself.

Since nobody else has posted yet I said I'd give this thread a bump.
