Very interesting, hopefully they'll get it working for more than just the x1900s and 1800s.

According to that article they released the client today, but it's not available for download from the Stanford site yet. Rumors of this client (and conformation of it a while ago when I posted it ) are what spurned me on to buy a X1900XTX for my Core 2 Duo system.........and I will be looking into selling my 6800GS to get a X1900XT for my Presler.......

I haven't kept up with version numbers so I'm not sure about this, but it seems to me that the 5.04beta for text only windows and linux would be it. Just saw that when I went to their downloads page to try and find it.

Ah, well that article seems to be wrong then... odd since THG is usually pretty reliable.

Don't worry, it is coming, maybe even in the next few days.
EDIT: Helps to read Stanford's news.

Cool, Monday then...man, my folding power is going to jump Monday......adding a 6700 and a X1900XTX to my farm.
Would it be possible to build a farm of GPU's for folding without having to build a full system for each card? Of course 2 on an sli board would work, but is there a way to use the power of the GPU without a dedicated motherboard or OS? May be a silly idea but there has do be some proprietary way to do it. And what about using a multiple GPUs on a board with some running over x4 or even x1 slots? If the processing is done all on the GPU with its own memory, does it need much bus bandwidth?
