Here's my first attempt at a water cooled case. I started with a white 600T, but my wife walked in the door and asked, "Is that an AC unit?" So I went with black, but she still thinks it's ugly. I said, "Let me tell you something: you're ugly!" That didn't solve any problems, but here we are....
I have about 1/3 of the parts now, will be getting 1/3 more tomorrow, and the rest next week.
When I look through other build logs, I always appreciate seeing a summary in the first post. Here's a quick rundown of what I've done so far:
My old machine (Lian Li PC-9F):
The new tower:
Dremelled some holes:
Painted the heat sinks on the ram and motherboard (they were blue), and mounted the CPU block:
Made sure everything fit (didn't have back 120 yet):
Connected tubing with pump in the bottom 5.25" drive bay:
Decided to keep my drive bays clear and placed the pump at the bottom of the case:
Painted the top radiator white and started process of moving the graphics card to the x16 port:
Painted the connectors to the top radiator white, and tested the Ice Dragon liquid:
Decided the white connectors were hideous, and the white radiator demanded all the attention. Made them black and leak tested:
The build all put together:
Swapped the 570 for a 7970:
After some 7970 warranty and Ice Dragon tarnish issues, I'm now running a 680 with a copper block...and water
