Smartphone recommendations for gf

Thread Starter
So I hate to be "that guy" that posts a general thread asking a broad question, but I won't have a whole lot of time to research on my own since my gf wants a phone tonight and I'm at work all day (her phone just died this morning).

She currently has an original Transformer (tf101), and I am hoping to find something that can tether to the tablet to be used as a mobile hotspot, but I don't really know what all is involved for that. I'm going to assume that she's not going to want to spend more than a couple hundred dollars. She has mentioned that she is interested in the iphone, but with her tablet being Android, she's willing to look into an Android based phone.

I'm sorry to be so vague here, but I don't know a whole lot about the smart phone side of things as I am still using an old flip phone, and just got my Transformer Prime a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for any help, or for pointing me in the right direction of where to look. Her carier is AT&T.

pm'd. And I would recommend any of the Samsung devices: Infuse, GS2 or skyrocket.

Thanks, from reading around it seems that the new Samsung stuff does seem to get good reviews over-all. When we go to the store tonight, hopefully I'll be able to get a better idea of what she's looking for exactly and which one feels the best to her.

Galaxy SII Skyrocket seems like a nice choice. The Note is just too big. O_O
post #6 of 20
Something that is durable.
Something that's really easy to use, and waterproof since as a woman, she will be spending a great deal of time around sinks an such! Ahahahahaha... Ha... God I'm lonely.

Go for the note, IMO. I've seen it in action, and I likes what I see.

Sent from a vastly superior Apple product.

well girls are naturally used to carrying around big things so the note is no problem! There purses are like enough to fit a small midget.

What's your budget? The Samsung Exhibit 4G is a good budget smartphone with Gingerbread installed. It works on T-mobile, and may not be offered at ATT kiosks/vendors but you could get it for cheap from eBay (if she can afford to wait)
