Need help selecting a new gaming mouse

Thread Starter
I've used primarily for the last 6 months or so, the Roccat Kone[+], and i really liked it, except for the fact that the scroll wheel got messed up twice. So i'm in the market for a new mouse.

I use a fingertip grip only, almost never claw it. I also play at around 2600-3200 DPI. My primary games are Starcraft II and random assorted FPS like BF3 or CS:S.

My budget is around $100 US.

I would really like it to be around the Kone[+] size. That's my only preference on appearance.

It's always hard to recommend a mouse for someone else, since everyone has differently sized hands and play styles.

Since you're a fingertip gripper, I won't recommend the Razer DeathAdder (it's much more comfortable as a palm grip).

As a semi-palm semi-fingertip player, I recommend that you check out the Cyborg RAT 7. I thought the customizations were pretty gimmicky at first, but after purchasing it and customizing it to my liking, it is quite comfortable and has a nice quality feel to it. I have fairly large hands, so the extendable palm-rest is very nice.

Also a big fan of the scroll wheel (not a free-rolling smooth one, good for switching weapons in FPS games).

The most neat feature is the "precision aim" button that can be toggled with your thumb.. it drops DPI on the fly, so you can line up scoped-in sniper shots much easier

Its kinda hard to find a fingertip mouse if it has to be around the size the kone+ but a sensei works very well with fingertip/claw and to some extend also palmgrip. You just have to make sure you can live with the small amount of acceleration, yet it seem less than other previous mice with the avago 9500 sensor, especially on clothpads

@AMD_Freak Will check out the Mionix, i do use one of their hard mouse pads.

@n1helix I have heard great things about the Zowie AM so i'll be sure to look that up as well.

@That Guy, never been a huge fan of Logitech equipment ever since i tried to buy a G19 and it was DOA twice.

@mingqi53 For whatever reason the RAT's have always had the appearance of being uncomfortable, but i assume that's incorrect, are there any important differences between the RAT 7 and RAT 9?

@HaiiYaa I used a Xai prior to my Kone[+], are there any major differences between the Xai and sensei?

I believe the only difference is that the RAT 9 is wireless. If you know someone who owns the RAT 7, or if you know a store that has a floor-sample that you can feel, I'd highly recommend you do that. What works for me might not work for you

I got the ZOWIE AM today so if you want any details just let me know.

I've been using the DeathAdder for the past two years and it's a great mouse too.
