Anyways, I will take this with a grain of salt. Don't think we really can judge the performance just yet, we have to wait for some trustworthy benchmarks.
I do hope Nvidia releases some soon though, I want to see whats best performance wise, especially in BF3.

Never really cared if its AMD, Intel or Nvidia. As long as its the best performance for the money I want to spend!

I didn't say anything was definitely untrue; it's rumours. Things could go both ways. What I did say is that I had a hard time taking this seriously because of the way it was written (fanboy angle). If you filter out the fanboy'ish statements, all you get out of it is that nVidia is doing *something* with physics/physX on Kepler. That's all the information that's there. Every word about performance is speculation.

If NV is being deceptive it should be brought up and published everywhere, period. AMD has never intentionally embedded devs at game studios to cripple a game on competing hardware.

It wouldn't hurt in at least trying to maintain some illusion of objectivity though. Most of the article is speculation and it's not very subtle about it's anti-nvidia angle, using the (still only rumoured) information about physics optimisations as a basis for concluding kepler is only good in PhysX titles and nVidia neutering AMD performance in physics in general in upcoming titles.

i do freelance 3D work and animations, Physx is used within the programs in animation for destruction and fluid dynamics to name just a few that i use. but i also use that in a curiousity notion of what would happen when this and that collide or break apart when certain parameters are inputted into the system, like if a steel ball cracks on a crystal surface while the crystal doesn't crack or break bringing the question why did the steel ball crack and not shatter the crystal surface? thats one of the questions that rises up in my little science mind physx's helps alot with things like that but it's a pain in the *** to render out... its a great system biggrin.gif whats so puzzling about it?

I really don't understand this. Why would Nvidia move to a more general architecture that can excel at both compute and gaming, then decide that they'd have a specialized unit on their die for games?

Why would they specifically target certain games and ignore others? Why would they spend excessive amounts of time and money when they already have their hands full with normal driver optimization?

The idea of a magical physics unit that can make certain games run faster just seems silly to me. I really wanted to hear details on Kepler's architecture, but this is too farfetched for me too believe. Perhaps if there was a better explaination of how this unit would work?

All major hardware tech companies have development support teams. AMD is weaker in this department and it is their fault for not investing more. Why do you think the GPGPU world is dominated by CUDA? Because NVIDIA developed the software, relationships, and hardware.

That's Charlie for you, though. He has access to informants in the industry that other journalists would give a lot for, he doesn't need to be objective as long as he report the rumours he hears.
