hey guys' i was jsut wondering if i played around with the amd overdrive for my graphics card if it would give me a noticable increase in performace while playing games (BF3) i currently play on ultra/high it runs nice and smooth already, just wanted to kno if it would give me that lil more performance that i would notice if not its all good lol biggrin.gif
if there is a noticable difference, what clock/mem speeds would you recommend?

My reference HIS 6870 will go 950Mhz on the GPU, and 1200Mhz on the memory without using anything except the graphics overdrive. It will help some but it wont be a significant difference.

I usually just stick to stock clock settings, except I boost the fan speed up for longer gaming sessions of BF3 as it will hit 80C. Usually 35-40% fan speed keeps it about 60C. Works well if you have a headset to block out the fan noise.

Depending on your chip, you can actually reach 1000mhz on stock voltage. My XFX 6870 reached 980 without any issue. Its free FPS so why not?

I was also getting some screen shuttering issues with the stock fan speed because the temps got above 80C. A somewhat aggressive fan profile fixed all that
