Problem installing display drivers

Thread Starter
I have a Radeon 5870 and was running the 11.11 Catalyst driver. Last night everything was working as normal. Today I downloaded the new 12.1 driver, once the installation had complete I got an error message saying 'installation complete (warnings occurred during installation)'. Now the catalyst manager doesnt appear in the system tray. Ive tried running driver sweeper multiple times and reinstalling both 11.11 and 12.1 drivers but everytime I get the error message at the end.

Does anyone know whats happening and what I can do to fix it?

Could try using CCCleaner's uninstall program feature to get rid of any remaining Catalyst programs on your system. Then attempt to re-install from there. I also seemed to have trouble yesterday when getting 12.1 on my laptop, acting ok now though I didn't need to re-install or anything.

If CCCleaner won't help then I suppose you could try doing a system restore and then updating once again. And if that fails; restore again then just stay on 11.11, and wait til the next revision to upgrade.

Good luck! Hopefully someone with the same problem can come in and tell you exactly how they fixed it.

For some reason I dont have any restore points, I only installed this copy of windows a few weeks ago, dont want to reinstall now as everything has just been configured. I will try the CCCleaner and see what happens.
