TT armor sound dampening/dust catching thingies on 5.25 bay covers

My intake fan, on the TT armor, brings in almost no air when I have the 5.25 inch bay covers on. The idle temp when they are on of my mobo is 47c. When they are off, and the fan is free to suck in all the air it wants, my mobo idles at 33c! Huge Difference!

So now I have a couple choices. I could keep the bay covers off, and attach the grill to the fan and make it look ghetto with style. I could keep them on. Or I could keep them on, but remove the dust catching, sound dampening, soft thingy that lines them. Without the lining, it blows more than there was with it, but still nothing compared to just the fan alone. Right now im thinking of just keeping the bay covers off completely over the Icage cage intake. But who knows.

So if you were having the same problem with little to no intake being brought in through your armor's 5.25inch bays, you should try the same thing and see if it makes as big of a dif as it did for me.

Edit: Seems my mobo is hanging around 38c idle with the dust catchers removed from the covers. And holy ****, I never knew this FM121 could blow so much air. Those temps were with it on half power, because previoulsy it got way to loud with the bay covers in front of it. With the bay covers removed, and it on high, its so much more silent, and my mobo temp is 32c and dropping

You can also swap out the fans for some Thunderblades. I would remove mine but I have a cat and its just too risky for how much she loves my case.

Well right now, I have the Fm121 sucking air in, the blue case fan on my big typhoon, and the other blue case fan exhausting. My only pet is a hamster, who lives downstairs. It looks cool with the grill. I'm still stunned by the difference it makes. Even if you have a cat, you should consider just taking the dust catchers off that line the cover. Just that dropped my mobo temp 9c. however if you do, be careful because I havent attempted to try and put them back inside the slot cover.
