but I am aiming at 4c-5c difference from ambient temp at idle, I've seen people have done this

Nice target but for me it's just a wish to cool 3930k + 3x680 with ~600-800 rpm. Unfortunately it's probably not possible with only 360+240 rads... Fortunately that i have another option and fresh idea: LD PC-V7 case if i will be able to buy 360 front grill from LD Cooling. Then... 3x XSPC RX360 (two in sandwich). Should be enough.

Really hoping the block is compatible. don't even know though, XSPC didn't answer me frown.gif

Check out the review of this GPU. Watch the disassembly photos, if it's reference from 1 to 1, the waterblock will be fully compatible.

3930k from my pov need at least 360rad itself when oc'ed,6 cores is just too hawt. Some people might disagree but hey we are OCN watercooler we overkill stuff biggrin.gif
I am planning to do the same, cooling with 600-800rpm fans, will be downvolting all my fans (maybe) to 7v else ill just stick with my fan controller, the nzxt sentry mix though doesnt look as good as other FC, the 50w/channel is just massive tongue.gif

love the LD case especially the PC-V8, would suggest you to get that since you system is already hardcore , might aswell spend on hardcore case and get some 420 rad in it
but I cant be bothered to get one especially in my country, someone here selling the PC-V8 for almost 700 US$ thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

last passage is to order Dwood pedestal, might make work log since I'll be changing alot of stuff in my 810

still unable to figure the loop order, the 810 isn't wide enough for me to make the best looking tube route frown.gif

Edit: btw you might wanna check on the sandwiching rad thing, i've heard numerous stories about the bad effect on sandwiching rad, I was planning to sandwich my rad aswell but had to cancel since so many people didnt suggest so

I will call Santa biggrin.gif I think that's pure overkill in every aspect)) We need many components to fill it up with beautiful result. Also check out the white and blood red rig http://www.million-dollar-pc.com/systems-2010/renovatio/038.htm I think that the same man did V8 worklog in the same style, can't find the link...

700$ price is everywhere... PC-V7 is only about 150 less with 360+240 at stock. Yeap, bad luck. I'm using cheapest fan controlelrs and still working good) Only two fans per channel rolleyes.gif without checking fan specs. Ordering the case is not the problem for me due to Moscow's watercooling store (it's called Overhard! for real! biggrin.gif, almost sounds like an overkill and almost local, just another town so no taxes and only shipping weight costs anything). PC-V8 has almost the same sandwich at the bottom, just with some free space between bottom radiators. Sandwiches working nice but two different places for rads is better on ~5 degrees, maybe on 7 maximum. My problem is that sandwich goes first in the "cooling phase" so the top rad will get hot air. Can't do this another way inside V7 or loop will look bad. Inside V8 i can. Problem is in the size of PC-V8 and cable routing. Plus more LED stripes for a final look and TONS of screws just to open side panels... Also i wanted the Mayhem Aurora coolant effect but only one-two years in the loop maximum life and blocks could potentially gang up. The last note is about the pumps: according to the physics, we need constant fast flow just to getting the heat away and it's hard to proof due to small "bad\tight" waterblocks amount inside most systems. Maybe higher constant pressure can make some effect in the unlikely event.

Okey, lets try to collect test results:

TTL system: 3970X @ 5.0 ghz at ~1.45V, plus 2x7970. Radiators: 30mm copper Alphacool + 80mm Alphacool, Corsair fans at 7V (~700 rpm), all push-pull. CPU temp under load is 64 *c max. Yeap, even didn't reached 70. Room temp is about 20-22.

DazMode previous system: 2500K + dual GTX480 or 580 and 2x RS360 in sandwich. Fans are TFC Triebwerk, about 800-1000 rpm. Works fine.

Trubyd44 client build: AMD CPU @4.0 ghz + 2x 6970 only with something like Black Ice GTX360 (both sides has one fitting, crossway?). Fans on 1000 rpm, Xigmatek. Works awesome

The end: without super overclock our systems should work silent even with 360+240 but...works not as we want)

Hope that pedestal make you happy smile.gif Try to contact owner for the scheme to make an order from any company.

Greetings from Estes Park, Colorado! I'm at a fantastic bed and breakfast on vacation but will return later tonight. Been away for a few days for a friend's wedding. The views are stunning and the alcohol a plenty. They had a Japanese drum duo perform prior to dinner and the ceremony made even myself teary eyed. A much needed break from work prior to school resuming Monday. I'll be back later tonight and jumping back in the sattle!

hey guys, some of you may remember i asked about what color i shold vinyl cover white switch 810

I bought a bunch of samples along with some I already had

I already had the black carbon fiber which is true 3m di-noc. The matte dark grey and glossy metalic grey on the left and right side are 1080 scotchprint by 3m brand.

The blue and silver carbon fiber are metro restyling brand and the top is a glossy silver grey by avery.

I've decieded I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the silver carbon fiber. After testing it, it works just as good as di-noc for much less price.

I went ahead and tested it out on my fan grille custom made by dwood.

I was really annoyed by that bottom edge of the thunder bolt so I ended up re doing it, it looks good though and I Think it will look great when the whole case is done. IT will be much easier to do the case, doing something really small with contours is not easy and on the edges i had to decide if i was going to wrap it around with my heatgun or cut some off which i did. The second time I took more time and wrapped it as best as possible. I know a lot of people wrap the cases in white, but white carbon fiber looks to stubtle, the blue looks to much but i think the silver/grey is just right. I was planning on sleeving my cables in blue/grey/white anyway.

After further review I crumpled a few pieces of the silver and blue up and then heated it with the heat gun, they are like new again just like di-noc. Its my conclusion that 3m makes great products, but the di-noc vinyl is heavily overpriced. The metro stuff is much cheaper and has almost exactly the same properties, same texture feel, able to reapply/remove with heat.

What you guys think?
