I ordered an XSPC Dual Bay Acrylic reservoir for my D5 pump, should make my build a lot cleaner. biggrin.gif

Also considering buying one of those Monsta 420mm rads once I get the new revised top panel I requested to NZXT, which I guess will take a good while, I'm not in a hurry anyways, since I won't be able to afford new rads until birthday in like 2 months.

Now the question is, if I chose to replace my current EK CoolStream XT360 and HWLabs Black Ice GTS 240 for some 140mm fan rads:

1. Which one should I ideally get for the top?
2. Which one should I get for the bottom?
3. Are there any good fans on 140mm market such as the AP-15's on 120mm? I want some quiet but at the same time proper fans for rads, else I'll just stick to 120mm fan rads.

Thanks! tongue.gif

PS: Keep in mind I don't want to do ANY kind of modding, I removed the bottom HDD cage, that's as far as I will go, don't want to mod the case at all, that's why I requested the revised top panel. rolleyes.gif

I haven't heard of the Monsta being released in a 420, but if so that's good news...

Regarding the Switch, if you want to do the least amount of modding, I'd recommend:
- Slim/Semi-Slim 420 Rad up top
- Full-Thickness 240 Rad in bottom

I am a big proponent of using 140mm based rads whenever possible, but to fit a 280 in the bottom requires the loss of a front intake fan and permanent removal of the front intake fan (lower one's) bottom mounts. In this case, a 240 is just a better idea.

The rads I would recommend would be:
TOP
- Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 420
- XSPC EX420
*Either will fit Push-Pull, no modding assuming you have an updated top
BOTTOM
- Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 240
- XSPC RX240
- Alphacool MONSTA 240
*Anything will fit push-pull, even with 38mm thick fans!

For the best performance:cost:noise ratio 140mm fans, I'd recommend the Bgears Blasters 140mm. They undervolt incredibly well, and they are ACE for 140 rads! I have 6 in Push-Pull on an EX420 and they aren't MUCH louder than the stock NZXT fans....

I know you said you didn't want to do ANY modding at all, but ...

Mod the top and put a UT60 480 up top with 8 Gentle Typhoon AP-14 or 15's on it. Get a Dwood pedestal base made up and put a Monsta 480 with 8 Gentle Typhoon AP-14 or 15's on it.

Problem solved. biggrin.gif

But if you don't want to do any modding at all (beyond just paying for stuff on PayPal and turning a screw driver) ...

Put a UT45 360 up top with 6 Gentle Typhoon AP-14 or 15's on it. Get a Dwood pedestal base made up and put a Monsta 480 with 8 Gentle Typhoon AP-14 or 15's on it.

The Dwood pedestal is a simple bolt on unit. You unscrew about 8 screws that hold the Switch 810 feet on, screw them to the bottom of the Dwood pedestal, then screw the pedestal to the bottom of the Switch 810. Then you fill it up (or better yet, fill it up FIRST).

In a word, . . . . . .

wait for it . . . . .

No.

The updated top would have slots for the 140mm fans where that one just has holes.

Sorry my english is very bad. I dont understand what you mean wink.gif
post #10859 of 13812
it would be like the rear fan section where you can slide the fans up or down. The new top will have a slot instead of holes, that way it'll support the 20mm spacing as well as the 15mm spacing without needing 2 sets of holes thumb.gif

OK now I´ve understood wink.gif Thank you thumb.gif
