Would that Monsta 480mm rad fit? I don't know if it has 15mm or 20mm fan spacing. That's the one I'd like to use in the future, obviously can't fit push/pull, I will just do 4 AP-15 fans on pull on the top of the panel. smile.gif

All Monstas have 15mm spacing. The Black Ice SR-1 480 has 15mm spacing. As IT_Diva told you 3.5 weeks ago ....

http://www.overclock.net/t/1209048/official-nzxt-switch-810-thread/10630#post_19108735

As stated by the same lady in her Switch build log, only the Hardware Labs 140. rads have the 20mm spacing. You need to read up. Btw, Jassilamba has a Monsta 480 in his Switch, but then again, his Switch is upside down, so where the Monsta resides in his case, is actually the bottom.

The problem with a 480 in the Switch's top is that the port end has to be in the front. Plus there is roughly 89mm of room between the inside case top and the top rom drive, so it will fit in that respect.
But wrestling that rad into place is on you !

What he said.

Even if you could shoehorn a Monsta 480 into your 810, it wouldn't make any sense to. Even if you totally removed all the optical drive bays to get a fan on the underside of the frontmost position, there still isn't any way for the air to exit the rad.

It's blocked by the top panel and the top plastic trim panel.

I even doubt that you'd be able to squeeze the USB assembly into place in front of a 480.

Not to mention, that you'd have to make ALL new holes to mount it, since you'd have to start from closer to the rear than the 120 fan sized rad holes do from the factory.

The 810 does best with a 420 up top, and it accomodates most, even with push-pull fans.

For maximum cooling capability, go that route.

Be carefull of trying to follow the "big boy in crowd" on the watercooling club thread, you'll end up making very bad choices for what you have to work with.

When you buy a case the size of a small washing machine, you can have all the Monstas you want.

Bigger is not always the better choice,

Darlene

Thank you IT Diva and socketus.

Any recommendation for 420mm rads? I'd like a thick one, maybe not Monsta, but 60mm thickness rad? smile.gif

Also need help choosing 140mm fans, I only know good 120mm fans (Like AP-15's or Corsair SP120), but have no idea about 140mm.

Thank you, might as well go for 2x140mm on the bottom instead of 2x120mm then.

My suggestion for a thick 420 would be Alphacool UT60 420.

What about the fans? I want some good static pressure fans with low noise, like the Gentle Typhoon 1850RPM fans.

Monsta would be nice in the bottom (in push pull, as that does not require any modifications unlike 280 rad in the bottom), and swiftech helix fans are the best bang for the buck in both 120 and 140MM (swifteches version of the AP 15s for $10.00), bgears is also really great for 140MM fans.

a 280 rad in the bottom will definitely not fit without modding the case. You would have to cut out the lower front fan bracket which really does not look nice at all plus you would miss a good place for a "freshair intake".
If you take a closer look at the bottom mounting holes for 140mm fans you see that the fan in the bottom front almost touches the lower front fan. So there's no room for the rads chamber.
Better go with a thicker 240 rad if you need that much of cooling thumb.gif

As has been mentioned, you have to cut the front of the case to get a 280 in the bottom, but a Monsta 240 goes in fine with a push pull fan setup.

For a painless install with great cooling capacity and reasonable noise levels, I'd go Monsta 240 on the bottom and UT 60 420 or G-Changer 420 up top.

Darlene

Use the B-Gears fans on a controller, or if you want color, and want to not have to have a controller, go with the Aerocool Shark series in the color of your choice.
