Just plug that into an open SATA power cable that goes to your power supply.

I emailed Nzxt yesterday afternoon to make note of my displeasure with the quality of the side panel viewing window, its extremely scratched and swirl marked after only 4 months of use and only ever been cleaned with a micro fibre cloth, anyway by this morning i had what i would call an instant customer service reply asking for photo evidence of the panel and the copy of my invoice. I completed these requests by return email and they immediately offered to replace the panel for the cost of the shipping.

I must say i am very impressed with the service offered and especially the super fast and efficient response time. I will be taking up the offer and replacing the panel.

Hello all,

Have a n00b question.

I am trying to decide what to upgrade in terms of cooling over the stock fans that come with the case. I realize there is room for more, and was also considering replacing the 4 fans that come with the case.

This is my first high end build, so I'm still learning, and reading all I can. Then I'll do a full water loop.

My build is contains an Asus Rampage IV Formula, and dual Vapor X 7970 OC cards in Crossfire with a SSD and a single hard drive for now. I'll be OC'ing, but nothing too extreme. I also ordered a Corsair H100i for the CPU.

I'm thinking at the very least I should install a second fan below the one so I can point two fans at the GPU's instead of the single that is there now.

I'm also contemplating doing a push/pull on the 100i

If I replace the stock fans, then I'd probably go with Enermax T.B. Vegas Duo 140mm fans throughout the case as my research shows they are quality fans, plus give me some led lighting control as well between red/blue.

What do you all think? Are the stock fans worth keeping, or should I upgrade them and/or add more to the existing setup?

Thanks,
Rich

I have 2 Switch 810 cases. Both are water cooled, with custom loops. Both uses after market fans on the radiators and are 120mm fans (all radiators are set up "push/pull") and are 6 XSPC 120mm fans, 6 Cougar 120mm fans, and 6 Gentle Typhoon AP-14 fans. In one of the Switch 810's, I basically use all the included 140mm NZXT fans (2 up front, 1 on the rear, 1 in the middle) and they work wonders. On the other Switch 810 case, I had 2 of the 140mm fan failures (1 was technically my fault, the other wasn't) so I replaced all stock 140mm NZXT fans and installed 140mm Cougar fans.

If the NZXT fans don't fail on you, I say use them. They push a good amount of air to cool the case. If they fail on your, or more likely, if you want a different fan to better match the case color/design you want ... go for it and swap them out.

Just got mine and I'm thrilled at the thought and attention to detail they put into the functions of the case.

However, some cons I found

1) The optical drive door. It doesn't work how intended. When the door pops down from the tray opening, the tray has that bottom lip from the front door, that when closing the door on the case gets jammed on it. So I literally have to hold the case door down when my CD drive is going back in otherwise it jams. On my Lian Li that I have that was a door like this, the top part of the drive door has a crurve at the top so the tray slides over it.

Here's a picture of it:

2) The "clips" used to secure the window onto the side panel are very cheap and kind of detract from the rest of the case. They're very loose and the window feels like it's going to wobble out.

3) The paint on the inner case is very "cheap" feeling. When I got my case it had scratch marks on the inside, whether this was done at the factory or during shipping, it was almost like it was just some cheap walmart spray on the inside. It's fine as far as the scratches go since mine is luckily covered up by the hardware.

4) The whole plastic front bezel could use a better grade plastic. This case is big, it's heavy, and when you add your hardware to it, it gets even heavier. What happens when I need to pick it up? I have to remove the whole front bezel in fear that the pressure I put on it trying to get a grip on the case feels like the plastic is going to snap.

5) The top...grate thing that covers the fans isn't flush with the back and hangs out an inch or so....kind of a stupid decision to allow that but really isn't that big of a deal.

This case is miles better than the Corsair 800D. That case was just horrid all together and was garbage for temps. My video card would go up 10C just by putting the side panel on.

#5 was a design choice. I agree with your complaint about mobility loss with the plastic though.

Ah well, it doesn't really make or break anything, it came popped off and I spent forever trying to get it all to line up and I was like ok why isn't this working!! lol

btw....thanks for fixing all that info on your site about the XSPC kits and the revision for the pumps when I told you guys about it. Just saw you updated the description when I finally ordered it Friday biggrin.gif
