Hi im getting a nzxt 810 switch i think
however i have a few questions

Im thinking of putting 3 140mm NZXT stock fans from the case to the top
I will be putting the h100i?
Will this be a problem?
Since the nzxt stock fans arnt built for static pressure?

+++ +++ +++ NZXT FAN
=== === RADIATOR
+++ +++ RADIATOR FAN

WIll this work?

Hello, im wondering, If I run a 45mm thick rad with fans on the top compartment, will I still be able to use the top 5.25" bay? or will it be cut off?

If you're running a 360, I think you might be able to squeeze a fan controller though I haven't tried but definitely not a cd drive unless you're okay with half of it sticking out. tongue.gif

I used my Hue in that top slot just fine when I was under water, I would imagine many fany controllers would fit there as well. As mentioned though you won't be fitting a disk drive there.

I just put my XT45 420mm rad in the top of my switch last night. Its 45mm thick. Like others said, if its a 360 or 420 (same length as 360) then it will take up some of your top bay. I have about half of my bay filled by the rad, still plenty of room for my fan controller or my hue. Here are some pics to give you an idea:

if you look closely you can see where the bottom of the third fan comes to in the top bay

hers a side pic: (gives a little bit of a better view of how far the rad goes into the top bay)

Of course if its a 240mm then it wont even reach the top bay

hope this helps a bit

off topic, Anyone have a good way to deal with the fan wires from the top rad in my pics? I got 6 fan wires coming from the top rad (push/pull) and could only find that one small part in the front (see second pic of the side) to route them through, I then ran them alond the side of the rad and out the front as you can see from the second pic. I have no idea where all those wires will go once my fan controller is in there. If you are looking at the case from the front there is a small hole on the inside right of the top bay that I may be able to use to shove part of the cables out the back but that is all I can think of. What do you guys do?

Pretty much what I did with mine, fed them all to the little slit/hole leading from the top down to the back side, then through a grommet to the fan header on my mobo.

Yep, thats all I could really come up with too but I gotta feed just the wires through to the back and the connectors back up to the top bay to my fan controller. Gonna be an awful mess of wires back there smile.gif

Anyone here ever try making their own radiator gaskets? I found some rubber gasket material at autozone: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Fel-Pro-10-x-26-x-1-32-in-rubber-and-fiber-gasket-material-sheet/_/N-25w7Z1z13c03?itemIdentifier=67683_0_0_ (probably wouldnt use that exact product but there is a ton of different types/sizes/thickness/colors/etc. available, jsut google gasket material) and thought "why not" there looks like there was a really good tutorial on danger den: http://www.dangerden.com/Radiator-Questions/18924-Making-vibration-damping-fan-and-radiator-gaskets.html but unfortunatly it no longer exists. Anyone else have any expiriance/tips etc.? I read in another forum that electrical tape could work but its kinda ghetto lol.

edit* I really just want a bit of extra sealing, dont have any vibration problems. Sure I could buy some premade gaskets from frozencpu or PPC but I dont really see a difference between the premade ones and ones I could make myself.

i used this on some of my rads that had larger openings and it works pretty good, the only thing i didnt like was cutting it out but for the price its worth it. You can use the templates here to start with but i would make it larger than the template and then cut it to size after you have it on the rad.

Yea, I haven't looked into that yet since I don't have a fan controller, but planning on getting one soon. It's already a rats nest behind my tray with a 6 cable fan splitter, 2 SSD's and 2 HDD's, cables for the LED's for my CPU water block, Res and then the inverter for the Res lol. I'm only running 3 Rad fans at the moment too, so gotta find somewhere for 3 more cables frown.gif
