I'm running mine at 4.2 1.25v daily. Bench 4.3 1.375v. But yeah lots of heat still. If it gets to be too hot for water I'll dial it down to 4.0 which doesn't take much of a voltage bump.

Hey guys,
I just made some updates to my system. I changed the cpu block and added the diamond plate film to the bottom cover and drive bay cover. I delidded my cpu so I went ahead and bought the naked ivy cpu mounting system from EK. So far my temps are phenomenal. Here are some pics. A link to my build log is at the bottom.

Hey folks i just had a quick question. Just got my case in last week and have been mounting fans.... im sure its been discussed somewhere in here but im wondering about a decent airflow configuration with a H100i.

Ive seen people recommending the use the H100i / Top fans as an intake and exhaust out the front. It should lead to overall cooler cpu readings and warmer gpu's since its not recycling the warmer air from the gpus and other hardware over the rad.

However with a front intake wouldnt i expect to see lower GPU temps and higher CPU temps since the the rad is pulling already hot air from the case.

Any opinions basically Front vs Top intake what are your recommendations? Thx thumb.gif

I would go front intake. With a decent set of fans on that H100i I doubt there is little to no temp difference. Also air wants to naturally rise so bringing it in through the front and then out the top will guarantee that your airflow doesn't have to fight natural tendencies.

Ill try that first if temps are high worst case ill flip a few fans around and see what works out better thanks! thumb.gif

So got some of my goodies earlier today, everything looked good except for one thing....

The 420 looks a little jacked up. One side with the bleed cap is deformed and looks like welded at an angle (look at the slant from left to right). Also several fins are a bit mangled but van probably be straightened out. What do you guys think? Is something like this normal? Send it back? The 240 on the other hand was pristine. Thought Alphacool was supposed to be top notch.

Alphacool is popular because they have good prices on rads with good performance reviews and extra features that are added values.

They'll never win accolades for fit, finish, or quality control.

Your experience sounds pretty typical.

I'd leak test it and go from there.

If you want consistent top tier quality fit finish and performance, you'll have to reach a little further into your wallet for Hardware Labs rads.

Air does not rise naturally even with a weedy fan running on low-speed. FACT.

Still very new to water cooling in general but here is my attempt.

I'm really interested in starting to case mod. After seeing some of y'all's mods just made me aware of how much I need to do. I love the PSU + Rad covers that were built. I think that will be one of my first mods after my Maximus IV Extreme comes in.
