I plan on doing bottom, front, and top as intake, rear as output. Positive pressure.

My rig will consist of:
Watercooling:
1 360 radiator (top)
1 120 radiatio (bottom)
Bitspower 150 res
Aquaero 5 Pro controller (with waterblock)
XSPC Raystorm CPU Block
MCP655 with bitspower kit
Monsoon and bitspower fittings
(eventually a waterblock for the GPU, when i get a new one)

Hardware:
Asrock z68 Extreme 7 motherboard
i5 2500K OR possibly just an Ivy Bridge CPU
4 HDD's
1 SSD
Sapphire 5850 (the gpu will be upgraded later, for now...it suits me just fine)
850 watt PSU sleeved with MDPCX. I may go with a Silverstone Strider in this regard.

You going to use any sort of filter for your top rad? I hate having to blow the dust out of mine every month or so. Definitely going to get a filter if I go intake on the top. I'll most likely try exhaust first, or until I decide on a filter.

It's going to be different for a lot of systems. The best way to find out is to test it yourself. In my experience, intake on every rad has always produced the best results as far as temperatures go, but they might be negligible to some people.

For one, my reasoning is that if I'm going to have a radiator anywhere, it needs to be intake. It makes no sense (to me) to have a 70 dollar + radiatior just to push hot air through it. Bringing cooler air (room temp) is better. Since there will be more fans pushing cool air in than out, there will be positive air pressure effectively pushing hot air out whether it wants to go or not.

So if I have 6 intake fans and 2 exhaust, those intakes can rest nicely at lower RPMs and the 2 exhaust can sit at Higher RPM's effectively cooling the entire beast.

I may do one of those DemciFlex triple filters on the top Rad. It would be a good idea, now that you mention it, cos blowing all that dust out of rads IS a pain.

The final goal will be something like this:

Except using purple instead of orange. I'll be using an MSI Big Bang XPower II with a 3930K and 2 7970s or 680/780s (depending on how long the case modding takes). Everything will be under water with EK blocks. I've saved north of $7,000 for this build and so I'm pulling out all the stops.

Thnks for referring to my build biggrin.gif! gonna follow your build deffnn!

so you think it's better to pull got air into the case through a top rad, and then have it exhausted, vs. just getting rid of it?

I'm hoping for the same effect as my Phantom had with black and red parts in the white case with black and orange parts. What do you guys think?
Old build for reference, kind of how I want it to come out except with water cooling and black/orange parts inside. I think it will be pretty nice contrast to the white case thumb.gif
And here is the board I'm going to be using:
