  • Double check that your 8-pin cpu (12v ATX) power connector is fully inserted. Ran into this issue myself once
  • Check that your MB standoffs are in the right spots. One wrong placement of a standoff can short out/ground out the MB. Or that nothing is underneath the MB that maybe shorting it out
  • Make sure everything is seated correctly. RAM, GPU's, all other power connections included the CPU fan header. Some boards will not post if fan header is not fully seated. Mainly to prevent the CPU from cooking itself.
  • Try to reseat the CPU
  • Try resetting/clear the CMOS
  • Check to be sure the BIOS chip is fully inserted in it's socket
  • Flash the BIOS - If this is a new mobo and CPU, BIOS may need to be updated to support the CPU.
Not sure if you've tried any or all of these things, but it's worth a try.
Also, Have you ever had this board up and running with it's current CPU and PSU? Is it a new motherboard? What CPU and PSU are you using?
Hope you get her running! smile.gif
I have tried all of the things you listed multiple times. The motherboard, ram, and psu have all been used together, the build was simply moved from another case to the switch 810. There was a VERY small spill on the motherboard in the area directly above the pcie slots but I very quickly dried this spot and let the motherboard sit overnight. The spill contained only distilled water and dead water biocide. The motherboard was completely dry. The first time I turned it on, everything worked without any issues, after restarting the first time it hasn't worked since.

Was power connected to the board when the spill occurred?

No. The power was off and all power cables were disconnected during the spill. It was during the tear down of my old build.

To those of you running the NZXT fans and enjoying them, what model are you using for the 120mm? I have one labeled as a DF1202512RFLN and it is pretty quiet and works well, up until it is mounted horizontally. Then it makes horrific grinding noises. I thought it might just be this one but I have 3 of them and they all do the same thing.

Finally got my Switch white, moved gear out of 800d over to it with green (wife 'persuaded me) and moved a MIVE into the 800D359

A few months back when I brought a Switch 810 home for some real world testing. I had ingeniously placed a completely full glass of water on top of it. This was almost immediately followed by me putting my feet up on the system and spilling the whole glass through the fins and fans onto my running system. I immediately flipped the PSU switch and killed it. I opened the case up and let it air dry for 72 hours and violently shook my video card and ram. After that I re-installed everything and shorted my 24pin connector to power on all 9 of my fans and let it "air dry" for another 24 hours. (Mind you this was a running system with regular conductive water.) The day after system was fine.

Since this was non conductive coolant, my best guess is the coolant dried, insulating part of some connector.

I would start by testing the power supply to see if it would power on (may not mean it is fully functional though). Short the power on and com on your 24 pin connector:

I'm pretty sure that's the ones I have and they work in both positions...

All of mine are simply labeled fn-120rb. They all are very quiet, even when horizontal. I currently own 6 of these fans.

The power supply is working without issues. When shorting the 24 pin connector, all fans and my water cooling pump turn on, as well as my hdd. The amount spilled was very small, only a few mL at most and I dried it instantly and let the motherboard sit and dry overnight (with fans blowing on it) yet it is still not working. I ordered a new motherboard from newegg so I will know on Friday if it's the motherboard causing me issues.

Yeah, this might be a coincidence with the water spilling and the board going bad. I was water testing my newest iteration of the Prime and had a bad ass leak in my GPU water block and the SLI water transfer for the 2 cards. Man, it was everywhere. MOBO, video cards, everywhere. Thought I was toast. No power was connected to those components. However, after a couple of hours of leak test and the water cooling, they were fine.

From what you are saying, it sounds like the board just went out. I really have nothing else to tell you to try other then completely different RAM.
