The SATA sleeve is awesome. I love it. Honestly, if I were a fanboy of any product, it would be MDPCX sleeve. There's nothing else like it on the market and the colors are so vibrant.

awesome, definitely trying to get on tonight.
I'd really like it if nils would open up the store so we can at least pick what we want in our cart but then designate specific times to actually SHOP/BUY the sleeve. I dont think I'll e fast enough to get what I want...

A couple extra questions:
Do I NEED a fan pin removal tool or is there something cheap and easy I can use?
Which of the heat shrink would for over the fan header? The SATA heat shrink? Or is that too big?
Thanks a bunch.

You won't need a pin removal tool for fan connectors. A small flat head (like those mini screwdrivers) works very well and is what I use. The small heat shrink WILL fit over the fan headers. I think the USB heatshrink would be a little too large once you try to shrink it down on the sleeve since the diameter would be smaller than the header itself, but the small shrink works great.

If you don't want to take the time to cut the shrink, you can buy his 100ct precut shrink, it's all cut the same size (I believe 1.5CM).

Definitely get more heatshrink than you think is necessary. Usually for SATA cables I do 2CM of shrink, for small cables like Fans, ATX, Mobo headers I just stick with 1.5CM.

Also, take a look at Lutro0's sleeving threads here on OCN. He's a HUGE help to the community.

but in reality, it's got native USB3 support/PCI-e 3.0 support and some of the MB mfrs have gotten the RAM speed support way up there (ASrock has OC support for 3000+ MHz)
Also Ivy requires less power, so may OC higher, etc.
But its mainly just a big upgrade for me, I see no reason to upgrade if you have a sandy+Z68 combo.

I think I might beat you on the HUGE!!!1!! upgrade front. Im coming from a C2D E6850 CPU and 8800gt GPU.

The native USB 3.0 is quite a set up coming from Z68 so if thats something import to you then it might be worth it but I still dought it

This might be of some interest for someone looking to compare PCI-E 2.0 to 3.0 link. Dont know if its applicable though.

Well, just because the fans produce too much noise at 12v and I would like them to be at 5v.
Without a graphic card and with a CPU with a TDP of 77W (possibly watercooled) it might be possible, but I haven't found anywhere the info whether the fan start with only 5v or not.

If you take a "regular" molex it's +12v (yellow), ground (black) and +5v (red) so what I often do is to use the ground with +5v instead of ground with +12v and I get a fan which produce less noise, the problem are that not all fans are able to run with only 5v, some need at least 7v to start.
