and it is a good idea to read up before hand on guides to have a general idea of what to expect when assembling your loop smile.gif.
I found this useful before I got my parts smile.gif
musicfan's The Beginning to Water-Cool Guide updated for 2012
Watercooling Essentials (OCN)
Linus' video of assembling a watercooling loophe shows off sponsored parts, but the vids are helpful nevertheless. Use regular distilled water instead of the Feser he used.

Will definitely set up my build log once its may/june because I should know by then exactly what I want. Thanks a lot of the video gonna watch it right now thumb.gif

I went back and re read all the replies you guys gave me (im home now and not in school lol) and it definitely makes more sense, and for that I gave everyone who helped/replied +rep (if I missed you/didnt give you one let me know). Also I decided to go with this kit because for $110 more I think its worth it:

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/15140/ex-wat-203/XSPC_Raystorm_RX360_Extreme_Universal_CPU_Water_Cooling_Kit_w_RX360_Radiator_and_Free_Kill_Coil_Hot_item.html?tl=g30c321s1310

My only thing is do I need better tubing (like the brand)? should I get color dye (ek ekoolant) or color tubes? 1650 or 2000rpm for the fans? and does it come with everything I need or is there some extra stuff I have to buy as well? Zip ties? Dead-Water Biocidal Drops ?

Edit: Also I noticed it comes with a 5mm Blue LED with 4Pin Molex...that kind of ruins my red and black theme I planned on doing -_-. Is there anyway to change that?

I use primochill, although if you want black, I think that tygon NORPRENE tubing is suposed to be great/doesnt have plasticizer (correct me if I'm wrong...). Only problem with norprene is it has large ugly text on it.

IMO, 5/8" OD tubing is the easiest to route/ looks really nice and clean. Check my log for the tubing.

If you chose the silver kill coil in the kit, you won't need biocide anymore. For color dyes, most people suggest Mayhem cause it doesn't easily separate. For beginners though, most people suggest colored tubing and plain distilled water though. 1650 RPM should be quieter without a fan controller, and with an RX fans usually are run <1000 rpm by most people.

you don't have to run the LED. I have a red theme also going on so I bought this: http://www.aquatuning.us/product_info.php/info/p771_LEDready-5mm-ultra-bright-red.html
i'm sure other shops have something like this though. XSPC has it at their online store as well. But if you know an electrics handy person they can probably make one too.

ok, but the real reason I came here, which I forgot to ask is:
what is the threading on MB standoffs / how long are the screws used?
I'm looking to get red anodized socket head screws instead of the standard, but dont know what length / thread to get.
Thanks

THESE are what I want

So would something like this would work and how much would I need? http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_413_292&products_id=23364

Also why are there different sizes? And I really hope when this tube comes when I get it, I hope its actually red and not orange.

I believe it already comes with the silver kill coil, "FREE IandH KillCoils - Antimicrobial Silver" is already checked off. Where would I get distilled water from? Also I dont mind the noise so should I go with the higher rpms or is it not worth it (I may get a fan controller as well). Alright sweet I was afraid the LED would ruin my theme, and thanks for the link thumb.gif

The sizes are mostly due to preference. Just make sure you get the right dimensions for your compression fittings. distilled water (NOT purified!) should be available at your local grocery. In my case, I bought it from Wal-mart. If you're going to get a fan controller, might as well get the 2000 rpm fans.
