Put in another order today for my socket 2011 build. My Switch 810 is on the way.

Mushkin is great. I hear that they even still have employees in America, if you believe that. I have their 120 GB Chronos deluxe. Its great, fast as hell even though I botched the install, and my old mobo only has SATA 2. From the time I press my power button, to the time I'm on my desktop is less than 20 sec. on a simple verbal count. In the new system I bet its 10 sec or less. Lifetime warranty too.

I bought the SSD as one of the first parts of this new build, so for practice I installed it in my old system while I was finishing the rest of my research.

Jesus. That is a good looking build.

what real advantages do I gain stepping up in the mobo in your mind? *compared to the AsRock Extreme6. Will this help with volts or is it just built to a higher quality?

moving from an 8 + 4 power phase, to a 16 + 8. Additional slots for a 3rd and 4th GPU - wont be using those though sadly, and it has Support for Fatal1ty F-Stream, Fatal1ty Mouse Port

those seem to be the differences from what I was able to pick out, is the additional power phases a big deal for OC? $60 between them.

I would just wait for the Extreme9.
I cant imagine it being that much more $$ than the extreme6 and it will be their flagship Z77 with the best features/cleanest power.
any rough idea on when it will launch? Ivy Bridge has been possibly pushed up to the 23rd now - not wanting to wait TOO long rolleyes.gif
post #2978 of 13614
no clue. If I knew, I'd probably not be able to tell anyway. I do the same as everyone else, sit and wait. I'm stuck waiting on my EVGA board, but I'm still looking into other options as well.

With better phase control, you can get better oc stability. The extreme 6 will be fine too. I know you don't plan on getting another gpu, but that is what I said and now I have 3. biggrin.gif You talked about not replacing the mobo soon. Thought you might want the most future proof mobo.

As for the M4 SSD, that was a suggestion for a really good ssd and a way to save a little money.

I am going to have to drive up to Chicago to check this microcenter out. Every time I look for components they have crazy prices, but you have to go to the store. I live down by Peoria.
