hey guys, quick question:

I am looking to make some cuts in not only my case but also in a crappy microcenter case Im using for my dads build (for a window). Should I get an actual dremel or is this a good one to go for as an option?
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-RTX-6-3-Speed-Accessories/dp/B0001GUDRI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336533542&sr=8-1
post #3632 of 13812
That should work, hope you have a steady hand and a proper cutting disk. For me, I favor a jigsaw for jobs like these.

Edit: Just want to add. Dont know how expensive Dremel accessories are in the states but here its almost not worth it, I have a 20-30 year old Dremel and it works perfectly but the bits are just not worth it so I bought a cheap one that came in a kit with more bits etc I need. Stupid South Africa ugh

This Swiftech Rad pisses me off with it's sub-standard mounting holes.....
YOU HAVE THAT PROBLEM TOO!!? God I thought i was gonna kill myself, good thing it's not only my unit. I mean the rad is nice but there is no possible way to screw all 4 screws! What have you done to suffice? Mount diagonal holes?

No. What I mean is, they use these stupid screw sizes that no other Rad does. I tried using my Koolance quick-mounts for fans, and they won't fit in the damn holes.... too big. So, I tried drilling out the holes...that's when I killed my radiator. Needed a new one that day, and Microcenter of course only carries Swiftech rads... GAH!

Okay. I know the pump needs to be below the res, is there a certain distance the pump should be from the res? My first thought was having the pump right below the res tube.

Any distance works, some of them are directly connected to the res, some have a foot from res to pump.

Water cooling gear is finally on its way! I really should take some photos soon but my desk is really messy.
I'm only having one issue at the moment... the buzzing/humming from the Sentry Mix fan controller. frown.gif

If you're doing a window, a jigsaw with a steel cutting blade (24 TPI), is way better than a Dremmel or any rotary. It's hard to keep a rotary cutting straight on long cuts, unless you have something to hold it against while cutting. It wants to wander in the direction it's rotating. Rotary with a flat disk bit is good for plunge cuts for jigsaw start or making small cuts. Rotary with a barrel sanding or grinding bit is good for De-buring.
