Yes i diagnosed it pretty much all day. So im looking for a replacement for my Corsair AX1200.... it was extremely overkill for my PC, i didn't complain since it was a gift from a friend. How ever i am currently running my Switch 810 rig with a 2500k @ 4.7 ghz and 560 ti SLI.... im going to upgrade to a gtx 690 soon... my question is... ..
Is a 850 watt psu powerful enough to run a 690, 2500k @ 4.7 ghz as well as a WC loop kit by EK?
Please help me guys...I'm back to using my slow ass laptop. If 850 watts is more than enough to run all of that, do you recommend the nzxt hale 90 850 or the corsair ax 850?
Ill buy a new psu after your recommendations smile.gif

It depends.

If you want your PSU to be able to support 2 690s, or more, then no. Get a 1000w+ , I bought an 850w based on recommendations from other people on here, and now regret the hell out of it. (won't support 3 way sli like I was led to believe)

If this is your build, and you don't plan on buying any other parts for several years, then sure, 850w is fine.

If I had my build to do over again, I would get 1000w+

That AX1200 shoud have a 7 year warranty! I'd try and see if they'll RMA it for you and get a new one. Most likely you'll just have to pay the shipping cost to them. Ask your friend if he still has the receipt if you need to. If he bought it on line, he should be able to pull it up on the sellers website.

RMA that sucker. For one, they have a LONG warranty period. For 2, I've rarely heard of their PSU's dying. For 3, RMA IT! Don't spend more money than you need to.

Edit to add:
Before you do, did you add anything new? if so, take it out / unplug it and retry.
Reason I mention this, is that as I posted before, all the "ModRight" brand, 6 pin to 8 pin pcie adapters I've gotten were all wired incorrectly and short the 12V rail and the PSU can't start.
Also check that you didn't misplug the mobo 8 pin connection with the PCIe 8 pin connection. They do not pin out the same.
I had the psu for 18 months....I did everything I found online solutionwise....I popped in an old 300 wat psu with a 3000 series amd video card and it works. I am currently awaiting an email from corsair....*cross fingers*

so boxgods just previewed the angles of the monsoons over on xtremesystems:
450
I think they look awesome, and the color disk at the back matches the colors that are offered in the standard fittings. I thought they would be entirely colored but they look cool to me. He said there are ones that are about $1 more that have more (?) features.
