Quick question regarding push pull on the radiators. Am I correct in saying that most put the top radiator fans in push-pull for the colder outside air, the back fan as a exhaust. I'm a little unclear about the bottom radiator fans. The orientation is normal and not as PCModderMike has his setup.

+1

That's good to know since I was looking at this controller and many others and now I am going to get it smile.gif

So would this configuration work without any modding: fan controller in the top, dual bay res in the middle, optical drive in the bottom?

Yes, that will work, but you'll loose your hotswap bay.

You get better temp results by stting up your radiators as intakes regardless of their position, you definitely dont want to set up a top rad as an exhaust because hot air rises so you would be pushing all your cases hot air through the rad , counterproductive . The one on the bottom if you lay it flat like it was meant to be you could get away with setting as an exhaust but I really dont see the point , use it as an intake and increase the positive pressure in your case. You can set the top rear fan as an exhaust and the bottom front panel one can also go either way , try both and keep what works best.

I have my top rx360 and bottom 140 exhaust. Both should be intake?
That would leave the exhaust rear fan the only exhaust unless the from 2 change to exhaust as well.
My thinking was that that would heat up the components more since there are way more fans inaking than exhaust. How much temp drop do people normally see with rads intaking?

It wont be a ton of difference ( 4-5 degrees at the very most ) and it depends on your ambient of course , but positive pressure ( more intakes than exhaust) cool faster and mroe efficiently than exhausting the hot air inside , the air that goes through the rad as an intake doesnt heat up that much , its still cooler than the components that require air cooling. Also if you have more intakes the pressure is higher and the air is looking for a way out so even if there is only one exhaust ( upper rear ) it will exhaust the hot air fast enough . The switch is especially good for that if you have the fans in the back of the bays tilted and aimed at the exhaust , it helps direct the air over the mobo towards the exhaust. You can add the front fans as exhausts but id leave them as intakes as well , they will provide cool ambient air to the mix, post your results after you try and we can see what works best..

Thanks for clearing that up for me, I had it as exhaust and my temps did not really seem as it should be, now I know why. Mobo is in for an RMA, will get everything setup and see how it performs.
