What kind of fans would everyone suggest for this case? Also, if I am just going to have it air cooled should I just leave the default fans? Or should I get more? I want it to be nice and cool

Hey everyone, just finished my switch 810 matte black build and I am loving the look of it (black and white theme)! I am waiting on a better camera and then I will post some pics. In the mean time, I've got a question for you all. The build consists of an i7 3770k with an EK supremacy block, and a gtx 670 FTW edition with the gtx 680 hydro copper block and backplate on it. The rad is an xspc RX360 with noctua nf-f12s, and the pump is a Swiftech MCP655 on a dual bay res. I ran a few tests and temps seem to be too high for the quality of my setup. Under load at stock speed, the 3770k is getting to mid 60's. In games, it also gets above sixty, which seems odd, especially at stock speeds. I have not tested the graphics yet but the idle seemed a bit high, around 35. Anyone got ideas as to why the temps are high? I was expecting lower.
3770K runs hot, but looks like something might not be right. Did that block come with plastic on the block face? I know some blocks do and if you don't pull it off you are not going to make good contact with the cpu.
Other things, make sure your pump is working good, all or most of the air out of the system, enough case cooling, etc. If everything else OK pull the block and check your TIM spread. Took me a few tries to get it right with my Raystorm block.

@IT DIVA, what's your motherboard setup? Cmon, let's see all that bling. lol.

My Brother was in love with my Fractal Design Arc Midi, so...... is now with him.

So now i have this baby, absolutely amazing, the possibilities are impressive. the only downside was the plastic, a lot of plastic compared with my FD but these cases cannot be compared in any way. This is the first build, im sure i have plenty of room to improve.

I´m very very dissapointed, accidends can happen, i was going for a beer and when i returned to assembly my system.... my cat jumped on the rear side panel and it was on the floor, and it is seriously damaged, it was my fault of course, but it´s very sad you know.

From my previous case i have 2 AP 121 and 1 AP 181, i was able to put all the fans and ventilation is amazing with this config, i know the AP-181 location is not optimal and the case is not designed to have this amazing fan on the bottom, but i have 1 and don´t want to waste it, and this works very very well.

I have an spare Antec fan from my Kühler but i dont know what to do with it, i dont think its necessary at all.

For xmas i will go for a good water cooling, i think i´m well preparated!

Hope i can join the club!

Sorry to hear about your case. Did you bury the cat in a nice place? smile.gif

I know that ivy runs hot, but it was my impression that they stayed cool until you overclocked them. Anyway I did pull the plastic protection off my block, and I'm pretty sure the pump is working since I can see water swirling in my res (lol I hope this indicates flow). Also I thought I had most of the air bubbles out since the pump is very quiet now, however I will try some more bleeding. The TIM spread should be good as I already had to redo it once.

That way your res is still above your pump, your pump will be upside right, and what not. Just my worthless 2 copper.

that would do it !

You guy's talking about rainmeter, I went different route. Still playing with maybe I'll keep it since I also seem to use rain meter for awhile then turn it off. We'll see *shrugs
