Well I finally got the machine running again. I got a 30GB SSD for windows only, so last night I went to do a fresh install, naturally my motherboard died. I had to run to Fry's and get the cheapest option the had available on the shelf, which ended up being a $300 Asus P9X79 Pro. Oh well, its a nice board although it did mess up my color scheme.

Sucks that your board died, it looked awesome in your case. I don't think it completely ruined your color scheme, as that Asus board does have white accents. Still looks really nice. thumb.gif

I'd ditch the rainbow 24pin and red SATA cable though. tongue.gif

Thanks. I plan to order the 750w NZXT Hale90 as soon as money permits, I've been set back again by having to shell out for the new board. I think the white PSU in the black case will look good. Next after that is a water loop. The SATA cables will be replaced as well, this is just "OMG GET IT RUNNING" mode.

Ahh. That mode is both nerve wracking and gets expensive fast.

I think that PSU would definitely do the trick. biggrin.gif

applaud.gifofftopic.gifWAY TO GO ARIZONA WILDCATS!!! offtopic.gifapplaud.gif

Now that the NCAA Mens College World Series is over I can get back to the build...LOG UPDATED

Installing the Water Cooling Parts and Leak Testing: WARNING Spoiler! (Click to show)
Started by removing the stock Intel Fan...looks like I may have used a little too much thermal paste
450
700

That's Better...ALL Clean
450

Do you see this backplate on the instructions anywhere???
450

Need to verify the monsoon fittings "fit"
450

Glue from the packaging transferred onto the fittings, but it cleaned up easily with my IPA
450

Looking Good (IMHO)
450

CPU INSTALLED!!! (NOTE: This was not an easy process...the backplate has 4 small stickers, which didn't stick well to the back of the MOBO) I suspect I will need to reapply and reinstall later.
450

Red & Blue theme after a bought RED DRAM
450

BACKPLATE (Sorry this pic is a little fuzzy)
450

Pump/Res in the lowest 5.25 Bay (Note: The Top port is the OUTLET)
450

Doesn't align properly because of the notches/fins on the outer ring of the pump
700
450

Used a file to smooth out the notches
450

Rad and Fans are ready
450

Only 12 screws (6-32 X 30mm???)...I will need 12 more
450

A Tube and Plastic Cutter from Home Depot. I was eager to get started and tired of bad cuts from every other tool. I should be able to use this for some other home projects in the future.
450

Top Fans installed...really need more screws
450

Bottom Fans
450

FANTOMAU and crazyg0od33: Thank you for the QDC ideas/suggestions.
450

Ready for the second leak test (already tested outside the case. I had a leak at the pump/res interface, because I found that the pump o-ring was still attached to the pump housing. Once I added it to the Pump/res no more leaks.

WRONG...Murphy's Law. Remember I said the top port was the outlet. As you can see here I have the OUTLET and INLET ports/tubes on backwards.
450

Not too bad for my first water build...lets see if it can actually hold water
450

Water FLOW IS GOOD (over 4hrs)
450

Still have some bubbles in the res, but overall really pleased.
450
Time to tighten up some of the tubing and I really wish there were RED or BLUE QDCs.

Next Step: Fan controller, re-installing components and wire management

QUESTION: What tools should I use to test my performance, temps, etc. I have used CPUID, realtemp and Prime95. Are there any standards or suggestions from this forum?

Make sure to have extra hands available when installing the Raystorm. My backplate did not stick to the MOBO and the block slid around on the Cpu as I tried to hold backplate, Cpu block and screw in the screws. Frustrating!!!

Good luck

This is how I'm gonna do a quick disconnect:

Compression fitting, Mini Valve, Dplug, Mini Valve, Compression - All I do is turn the valves, and pull it off.

450

This will be going downwards, Not across, So it wont hang down.

Very nice looking build. what lighting did you use? It looks very nice and even.

@dhunt10629
Thanks for the heads up.

@Fantomau
That is just badass man.
I never knew anyone made a connecter that you could just pop of like that. I know there is something similar where you can just stick a piece of plastic tubing into a pair of fittings for SLI/Crossfire, but this is just cool.
Would love to see that in a build.
