I've only had two cases including the Switch.

This was my first. It was green instead of red.

hi guys, I am thinking of getting this case and do a cpu watercooling loop. I want to know will it fit a 60mm thick 360rad on top with asus rampage IV extreme? Also will the motherboard be blocking spaces for other watercooling stuffs? Like res? Thanks a lot!

Hey simon - I forgot to get back on this fan, I did what you said - trimmed the fan, and it just fits

Crucial M4/Samsung 830 256GB SSD
Western Digital Green 3TB HDD
G-SKILL DDR3 1600 RipjawsZ 32GB 8GB*4 kit
Corsair AX850 Power Supply
Asus DC2T GTX670
NZXT Switch 810

So I am planning to do a cpu-only loop, and I have no idea what blocks/res/pump/rads/fans/fitting/tube/coolant that I should get
I had built a watercooling computer few years ago and that was a cpu-only loop, I was using ddc pump at that time.
I am on a budget so please suggest components that have great values, thank you very much!

So to begin with,

What block would you suggest for 3930k?
What is the best rad if I want to get a 360 to put it on the top of the 810case? I suppose a 60mm wont fit with push-pull setup, should I just use single sided fans or get a thicker one and single sided or get a thinner one and do a push-pull?
Is D5 still the best bump?
For res, is it better to use those 5.25 bay res(will I still have enough slots for my SSD and HDD if I do use those?) or the one that is a cylinder like and hang it in the middle of the case?
What fans have a good balance between noise and performance since I may leave my PC 24/7 in my bedroom. I was just using cooler master's fans back then.
Also I was using barbs and clamps but this time I would like to try compression fittings for better looking, what type of compression fittings should I get for my setup? And actually barbs vs compression which one is safer? I was told barbs are safer?
Tube shouldnt be a big problem since I will just follow the size of the fittings
What about coolant? Just distilled water? I am not the type of ppl who want fancy looks so UV or led things are not needed.

A 60mm rad with push/pull might not fit with the RIVE.
You can go for something a bit thinner, like an SR1. Heard great things about that rad. It has low FPI so you can run quieter fans with it. Or you can get the skinny rad like the GT Stealth. You can run push/pull with that no problem.
Also, are you gonna throw in your GPU in the loop at some point? If not, I would suggest going with an H100 or something.

In my loop, I'm using a XSPC Raystorm block for my CPU.
My tubing is Primochill Primoflex Pro LRT tubing.
I have a bay res, but you can use that or the cylindrical one. They both fit.
What I'm doing is putting my storage HDD in the hotswap bay and mounting my SSD on the case wall with velcro.

For the fans, the Scythe Gentle Typhoons get lots of recommendations. I have the 1850 RPM version, but I'm very sure they slower slower ones.

From what I've read, compression fittings tend to be safer, and IMO they look nicer than barbs and clamps.

Lots of people still use the D5.

For the coolant, I'm using distilled water with a dye and a silver killcoil.

I may or may not add my GPU into the loop in the future, the reason I want to build this loop is because I think watercooling parts can be used for quite a long time and I like the process of building it.

Regarding the rad, I read the youtube review of the switch 810 from overclock3d, in the video it is said that push-pull and single sided fans setup dont really have much of a difference? is that true? Would it be enough if I just do i single sided 60mm 360rad on the top for my cpu? If i do add my GPU in in the future I may as well get another rad at the bottom.

It's very close with a 60MM RAD, but can be done. Like you may have to cut the tabs off of the 8 Pin PWR for the CPU. It's like 88MM of room, a 60MM Rad & Fans will be 85MM. That is cutting it close. I was going with a 60MM @ first, but I can't cause I wanna run my tubing down the side. I will have a 120 on the back, so a 60MM thick RAD will stop that.. It's a lot of info on this case in this thread & these guys are very helpful. Look @ the 1st page. It's some build logs, some have videos. This build log here is a good one. He has a 60MM 420 RAD in push/pull.... Good luck..

Thank you for your input! I have read the builds that you have posted, and the concern I am having right now is that I dont know if the heatsink of the top of the Rampage IV Extreme will be blocking the push-pull RX360 or not. Because in the video review of the 810 from overclock3d, gigabyte G1 was used and it's heatsink blocks one of the fan for a push-pull setup
