It made a little difference, but still defiantly noticeable on higher RPM's. 1200 wasn't to bad this time, but 1400 and above were. When I get motivated I might try switching the fans around temporary to pull exhaust to see what happens.

3 gens old? Not quite. It was replaced by LGA2011/X79, so it is one generation old. It still has SATA III and USB 3.0.

So guys I need some ideas and couldn't think of a better place to ask or a better group of people. I am having Dwood draw some specs up for a mid plate on my switch and can't decide between two designs.

1. Have the mid plate go all the way across from the top of the PSU to the front fan. Mount a radiator under neath and Dwood would add a grilled design to the mid plate to allow air flow from the bottom.

2. Have the mid plate go from the PSU and stop at the mother board tray. This would allow a rad mounted in the front where the front two fans are but would deduct my HDD cage.

3. Have the mid plate stop at the mother board tray like in 2 except under the mid plate mount a HDD cage of my own. Then remove the other HDD cage and possibly put a rad there.


I am still not sure so here are some pics I did for Dwood. (Don't mind the mess I just slapped it together to get it running. I will have to take it all apart not too long from now.)

Does anyone have any knowledge with adding your own windows? I was going to cut the door out wider and add a bigger window so you could see the inside design and lighting better without taking the door off.

So you decided not to tackle it yourself? Really, it's not that hard if you're handy and have a few tools.

I enlarged and redesigned the window on mine to show off the lower rad and tertiary pump more, and added a matching window on the plain side so the case has a nice symetrical look to it overall.
I did sort of a "side window 101" post to show how easily it can be done and not have to use tape or fasteners, so you can change or mad it anytime.
