The 1 piece look can get real tricky, real quickly.

It does look nice.
I did my first one as a two piece (top/side) and it was very problematic as to being able to access anything. Moving to a two piece top was a big help, but finally I went with a three piece top and single piece side with some strategic adhesive use and it works out pretty well. I guess it depends if he's going to have a rad in the bottom and how he's going to hook it up.
I'm always changing / modding stuff so accessibility is paramount to me, not so important to others. I've probably drained/filled my loop 15 times since I put the first cover on mine, lol. Definitely gets old fast.

Wow, that might be a bit of deal breaker for me as most of the cables for my current MBs are the 90 degree ones. Thanks for clarifying that.

Do both the gun metal grey and matte black cases have these new HDD trays or can you still get either of those cases with the old trays?

All the newer Switch 810's have the new hard drive trays. The only real revision they did was the optical drive tray that they just cut out a few holes to let air flow into the front of a 360 or 420 rad. And like I said I got my white switch 810 on july 2nd and it came with it. So I'm sure like XNINE said anything you order now from any major vendor will have the revised tray. And as for the hole spacing up top like ITDiva said the have to be modded alil depending on the rad your using. For the price range you can't complain about this case AT ALL. It is great for water or air cooling. Is very well built and lends itself to be modified in any way you want. The only limits there is on modifying this case is the person doing it's skills. But this case is built as good if not better than alot of the higher priced cases out there. thumb.gif

The top panel for radiator/fan mounting has been changed as well, though I'm not sure when those will go into production, if they haven't already. Rob changed it so it resembled the rear exhaust fan as far as mounting, so there shouldn't be any need to drill new holes anymore for whacky radiator/fan spacing.

Will us current switch owners be able to obtain a new top panel with updated hole spacing?

Hi guys,

New here. I just got my new SSD installed on my rig, but the thing is I want to buy some more. I have an HX850 which has a continuous SATA power cable which I love. The problem is the extra bracket behind the screw holes for the SSD in the HDD tray is making it impossible to use the power cable due to gap issues. For now I use the very end of my power cable for the SSD but this will become a major problem as I start transitioning to SSD. Is there a mod out there that can alleviate this, or should I just flat out cut the whole bracket out?

I knew I wasn't going crazy, Thanks for clearing that up for us.

How exactly were the HDD trays updated? I ended up ghetto-modding mine to fit an SSD.... The 90-degree turn side wouldnt fit onto the mobo, so i had to cut up the tray holding the SSD to fit it there.

I use an Akasa double 2.5" HDD/SSD tray, (with 2xSSD's) and I just shift it forward as far as I need to then stick it in place with 2 small pieces of Scotch Extreme Mounting Tape on the crossbars of the mount. Works out fine.
