Looking GOOD !

Was just what was playing from the playlist as I did the clip, forgot it would pick up that much. I'm in the islands, mon . . . gotta have a splash of reggae here and there.

The big 38mm fans are wicked obnoxious close up with all 5 at full speed, (4000rpm rated, 3800rpm max on the controller) and more of just a dull roar when down around 2200 to 2600 where they still do an outstanding job. It also gets a bit better with the side covers on.

Both rads are Black Ice GT-Extremes, so the fans are actually a near perfect match to extract all the rad's potential. These are the fans:

I'm pretty accustomed to server room fan noise, so I don't mind it so much, whereas others wouldn't be in the same room with it. It's not run on a 24/7 basis, so I'm willing to sacrifice quiet for performance when i need it.

Testing shows about 4 to 5 C better temps at nearly stock clocks running Prime95, and better yet when OC'd over the 127 cfm 25 X 140's, that I can swap out to for relatively quiet operation.

These ones: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14514/fan-947/Prolimatech_Aluminum_Vortex_Series_140mm_x_25mm_CPU_Fan_-_Red_LED_1600RPM_127CFM.html

These are also what I have on the bottom of the 420 and as case fans.

I have a bit of hardware coming from McMaster Carr to mount the top grill, and then I'll be able to do a light ring under it.

Was kind of thinking about using RGB and letting it follow the HDD activity, or I could just use the translucent red with some red leds behind.

Hello everyone, I just put the finishing touches on my recent build... spec is in my sig.

I have made a slight modification on the front panel LED switch so that I can turn the LED strips on inside my case as well as the rear I/O LED light.

Originally, the circuit for the rear I/O LED light is like this:

5V is supplied via SATA power connector and a 150 ohm resistor was used to prevent burning the LED bulb.

What I did was snip off the SATA connector and remove the resistor.

I then use a molex plug to supply the circuit with 12V and a 220 ohm resistor for the rear LED bulb... another wire is spliced and has a male fan connector on it to run the LED strips.

The LED strips has wires with female fan connector attached to the other end. I used a fan Y-splitter since I have 2 LED strips in the case (one on the top and the other on the bottom).

Here what the case look like in the dark with the LED strip on:

Got the white LED strip on ebay, resistor at Radio Shack, and various connectors from junk fans and 3-pin to 4-pin adapter.

Have you got a link for that? It doesn't sound right.

The Prolimatechs "feel", and act, like they are about the same as the B-Gears B-Blaster 140's, which are about 3.5mm H20

The Koolance 38mm fans are rated at 20mm H2O and 184cfm.

They push air thru the GT-X like a tornado thru a trailer park. thumb.gifthumb.gif
