Good luck on your sleeving journey though.

Yes I did order it. Luckily through corresponding with protz in PM's he had told me how difficult it can be without the tool as he tried without it first also and eventually ordered one. So I decided to not cheap out and get it with my order. Now I am wondering if I should have ordered the MDPC crimp tool also. I planned on picking one up at princess auto where I will buy all my wiring but I am second guessing that now tongue.gif.

Thanks for the luck! I think I am ready. I have watched all the LutroO videos, spoke with him in PM. Decided I will buy a new powersupply for the nice pinout and straight cables upon his advice and another fellow on HWC.

I got my dinner plate, my knife, my fork, napkin...... I'm just missing one thing! *edit* big personal rep if you can tell me what movie that is from tongue.gif*

even though I totally butchered it.

After breaking couple of my cables while taking them out (using cheap tool), I decided to buy the tool, its was about 70 bucks shipped (just the tool) and honestly I hope I don't have to use it (for this build).

Once my first build is in, the second build I plan to make my own cables.

the tool you can buy from anywhere realy. mdpcx sells the same tool that fcpu or ppcs's sells. It's the official 'molex' tool.
An @nhs better do your research on that psu t make sure it's easy to work with haha smile.gif after having all of my trouble through this thread i have found out that seasonic is generally a PITA to get sleeving done (which isnt really a bad thing, means good build quality)

but my solution: im going to purchase some new cables from seasonic's supplier Antron Electronics and request that they are not assembled before hand biggrin.gif so i can sleeve em then just connect em. They say you can ask fo special requests, but i havent heard back from em yet on the request!

I have done my research for sure. I wouldn't be dishin out the extra $150+ when I have a perfectly silent PSU right now tongue.gif. I spoke with LutroO and Lowfat(in my opinion the godfathers of sleeving) and they both recommend Silverstone Strider series... the ones with the blue pcie plugs on the psu. It is apparently the easiest to work with as far as de pinning goes and it has that perfect pin out so no cables cross over each other. The only thing I don't like about those models is that it doesn't have a power switch and the finish is ugly imo but thankfully I am getting a dwoody PSU cover. biggrin.gif speaking of I forgot to paypal him some $$ yesterday tongue.gif gotta get on that.

Have you considered putting an order with MDPC for your pins if the seasonic special request doesn't go through?

I'm in the process of deliding my 3770k plus some additional modifications to the 810 including some white LEDs. I'll be posting more pics this weekend. Hopefully nothing comes up and I can finish all of this by the end of the weekend.
