Are you sure the noise is coming from your card/s? Getting coil whine (from the chokes) on two consecutive cards is like winning the Mega.

Yes, could be since you're stressing the PSU with the card running at max.

My first TX750 PSU did squeal when I run up my GPU to max in games. I had to RMA it and told Newegg to exchange another model (HX750) at the same time with additional cost for the price differences.

I watched the vid. In our MCT class we built a nice rig for a competition and we choose a PNY GTX 570 for our card and it makes the same noise. It alarmed me at first so i looked into it and decided the card performs just like it should and everything else is fine with it so i just disregarded the noise. I think i was the only one that noticed it laugher.gif since it was sitting next to a Cooler Express 2011 single that was on whenever the rig was. I'd keep it if the noise doesn't bug you, otherwise just replace the card or it's going to bug the heck outta you. You decided to keep it, i would.

if your PSU is putting out voltages that are not very good, and has high ripple, it can cause the noise to occur. The VRM design of the card also factors into whether it squeals or not.

just get over it and stop pissing and moaning about a non-fault in the GPU.

they don't promise that it WONT squeal....

This is why I posted as the problem isn't something I'm familiar with. It made me question whether or not I had a faulty card. If you're going to be so abrasive then don't post in this thread please. I have every right to "piss and moan," as cleverly as you put it, especially considering how much money I spent on this card.

@ Macabre

Does your card have coil whine at Idle (300/150 Mhz)? Mine has a really faint high pitched whine that changes frequency ever so often. Funny thing is that when it is under slight load it disappears. When gaming, that's a different story and I think it is similar to your situation. I am also on the border of RMA'ing or just returning the card and keeping my 6970 or crossfiring them.

If you're going to RMA every high end card that squeals under load, you may as well start stockpiling bubble wrap for the future now. Nothing bad comes from coil whine, and its not a fault.

Again, you need to read a few earlier posts if you're going to say anything at all. You must answer why an EVGA GTX 580 Classified made no sound at all. On top of that, I'm not used to hearing odd noises from my video card, especially a $550 one.

The card doesn't make any noise at idle. It doesn't even make noise if the card is at default clocks instead of idle. I only hear the noise if there's a load put on the card and even then it depends on what program it is and how high the FPS is on that said program. Futuremark benchmarks tend to make more noise than actual games. The Heaven DX11 benchmark makes a much higher pitch noise than the 3Dmark programs. The sound varies in pitch depending on a number of things.

As I stated before I'm keeping the card. I'm willing to put up with this because of how impressed I am at the performance of this GPU. It's actually overkill since I'm only on a single display at a resolution of 2048x1152.

i will definitely send it back for a rma. some ppl say coil whine is normal, but I am also very sensitive to noise.
ALSO! most GPU does not coil while! I had many many GPUs because I upgrade GPU very often.
