Congratulations! You've been selected to participate in the Diablo III beta test.

As a beta test participant, you'll have the chance to check out all five hero classes -- barbarian, witch doctor, wizard, monk, and demon hunter. You'll fight your way through part of Act I and go head-to-skull against the Skeleton King, taking him on alone or cooperatively with other adventurers. You'll also get to meet up with some of the artisans, followers, and other key characters from Sanctuary, and try out the game's skill and crafting systems.

At the same time, you'll be helping us test the stability of the Battle.net® service and fine-tune the game balance prior to launch.

Before you can play, you'll first need to create a BattleTag™ nickname, a new player-chosen handle that will identify you across all of Battle.net in the future -- in other Blizzard games, on our websites, and in our forums. Make sure to choose a name you'll be happy with in the long run. For more information, read the BattleTag FAQ.

We also invite you to share your Diablo III beta experience with the world! All participants can take screen shots, capture video, and/or publicly disclose information about their beta test experience.

We look forward to hearing your feedback, and we'll see you on Battle.net!

Beat the game in a little less than 3 hours, sorry to spoil it for you but it does NOT play like the original or diablo 2, it's a completely different experience. I'm not sure if its a better one, but I'll judge after the game comes out and as far as the beta's goals are, bliz has been pretty successful at eliminating glitches. Also, don't spend many hours on it because characters get wiped every now and then.

Oh I know how beta's work, don't worry about that.

Still just excited to get in. It happened less than a month after I changed my specs to my newer system. Guess they really favor the new Intel processors. tongue.gif

And going to pre-order right now.

Not sure why you said it didn't play like older Diablos. Having played Diablo 1 & 2 for years, it feels like an old glove. Gameplay is really the same...the atmosphere is just right. I was iffy on the graphics, but damn.

I maaaaaaay get the CE, depending on what it comes with, besides that skull.

I just got a beta invite tonight as well. Outstanding game. I am so thrilled to have it as well, because I am playing the game in all of it's glory. Single player, multi-player, auction house, everything. The only thing we seem to be missing are the cutscenes. But who cares! It's free! I will definitely be ordering this one as well.

I think it might have something to do with my new upgrade on the system as well.. I updated my computer specs on Battle.net with their computer analyzer thingy, and I originally opted in for the beta about a year ago now. I was wondering if they sent this new batch of betas out to tons of people or something? Or maybe we just got pretty lucky with ours?

Might be our new systems, or might be we got lucky.

Regardless, I can't believe it. I was so skeptical after everything I heard, though I was trying to ignore it and wait for the game to release, then decide.

This beta has proven to be that Blizzard can deliver...

I'm having a hard time typing as well. I haven't made so many typos in so long, that it takes me along time to write now. I haven't been this excited since StarCraft 2 released.

One issue that is hurting the beta is I get random lock ups, it just freezes for a few seconds, then returns to normal. Still, running off a SSD. All things load so fast. I hit "new game" and before my mouse click was fully unpressed, I was in town...loading between buildings and whatnot is so fast you could blink and miss it twice over. tongue.gif

Oh yeah, and load times are non existent. Other then the very first initial loading screen, you can way point to any place and it will happen instantaneously. No idea how they did that - these environments are gorgeous with lots of unique customizations! I agree, that the models have room for a bit more details, especially when you press Z to zoom in further, but the gameplay, the details in the environments, and the interface design are all so damn good that it makes up for that very small request.

One other thing, you can't seem to pause the game. This could be because you can start an online game at any time with friends, even when playing single player? Makes me think that I can log in to my game from any computer and play from there, since an internet connection seems to be required when you first log in to the game? If this is true, then online may be required for this game, even in single player.

Yeah, Blizzard already said they are opting for an "Always On" for it. Controversial, alot of people hate it. I'm ok with it, and I've been without net for months at times. Regardless, playing Diablo 2 in Singleplayer with no one else is depressing. I've tried doing it...just...just something missing. Not fun.

It saddens me... I've seen a load of people getting invites from the last batch. So I excitedly went off, cautiously optimistic that I might have got one, too. But no dice... frown.gif

But that's cool. I have the collectors edition locked in and ready to go. Just, have to be... patient...
