in the market for a new camera. i would like recommendations.

well i think its time to upgrade my old digi cam. i have been using a kodak c340 for a long time and it just isnt cutting it anymore. i would like to stay with the point and shoot style camera because tbh the dslr is overkill for what i do. i go to a lot of concerts and some of these places i go to have horrible lighting. so basically i need someting that is really good for low light situations and the occasional daytime shots. i have been eyeballing the sony cyber shot dsc-wx9. according to sony's site, they claim its takes really good low lite photos. i dont really have a budget, but i would like to stay around $200-ish if possible.

so what do yall think about that sony cam or can you recommend me something else?

thanks.

I've got a Canon PowerShot A2200 HD that takes really good pics. I got it a few months ago because the Droid just wasn't cutting it anymore. lol

I'm not real sure about the low light pics, because I'm usually taking shots of things to sell on Ebay, but I know it does very good close up shots of almost anything. It's also pretty tough, as I've dropped it twice now (once on a wood floor, and again on gravel.) and it held up very well.

Low Light Mode
With an ISO of 400 to 6400, the Low Light mode takes the Canon PowerShot A2200 into the shadows. Now even scenes notorious for having insufficient light, such as those lit by candles, fire, or street lamp, come through in fantastic color and clarity, with less noise. You can keep the feel of the scene intact without adding additional light, so the result will be scenes with the visual accuracy, depth and clarity you expect from a Canon camera.

It always amazes me how people will leave a bad review on something because it's not just like a far more expensive one. This camera is NOT a DSLR by any means, but people seem to expect to get that kind of quality for $100 in this camera. lol

It takes good pictures, great close ups (Which is why I bought it.) and it's got nice features for the price range.

EDIT: Looks like it's going for about $75 - $100 all over.
