Xbox Build. - Page 15

How much space did you have from the motherboard to the side of the Xbox case? I'm thinking of doing something similar and have a spare 220watt dell power supply that is only about 4 inches wide and am wondering if it will fit.

I will give you some measurements when I get home. I will be home in a few hours.

I would have to say no. because im pretty sure a Xbox case is ~10in long x ~8in wide.... a MINI-ITX Motherboard is 6.7in x 6.7in so your PSU can only be max of prob 3in wide and 8in long. Also it can be no taller than i believe 3in as that is roughly the height of an xbox 360 casing.

With the case it is 3.5 inches wide, 2 inches tall, and roughly 7.75 long. Shame if it wont fit, really wanted to find a use for that PSU. Maybe I could cut off one side of the Xbox case to gain some space. I have 3 spare cases so I have plenty of room for error.

I just measured. With my setup, I have 3 inches of room to the side of the motherboard. If the motherboard was pushed all the way to the side instead of leaving a tad bit of room like I did for a power cable, then you'd gain another inch. You'd have roughly 4 inches wide and 2.5 inches of height to work with. You also have 8.5 inches of length to work with.

However, if you plan on using a slim CD drive you will barely have 2 inches of height to work with.

I'd say 1.8 is the most to be safe, since I have a 1U riser card and that might be a tiny bit too tall. I'm fitting 1 mini-itx mobo and 1 Asus 560Ti into it. Very very tight. I might have to sacrifice something.

Hmmmm. Looks like I have a challenge ahead of myself. I'll find a way to make it fit.
