and Roccat mousepad & Speakers

rest of the items im buying is 16gb ram
1 or 2 tb harddrive
i7 2700k
and a Noctua D14 cpu cooler

iv been thinking my graphicscard is abit crap compared to my other parts i will be ocíng cpu to 4.5ghz, i was thinking selling this card and buying a ASUS HD6970 2GB i dont like the fact my VRAM is 1GB for a $1000+ build.

For that budget you should be able to squeeze either a 560 448core, 570, or 6970.

The 6950 isn't a bad card though... it all depends on what games you want to play, and what fps you want to play them at.

I know people are going to hate me for this or actually quite a few will agree, if this is for gaming ditch the 2700k get a 2500k and spend more a GPU. If you're considering spending 300$ on a GPU and shelve that 2700k you could pick up 7950 which trades blows with the 580GTX and it's a little cheaper.

good catch

for gaming you won't need hyperthreading, so an i5-2500k will serve you just as well as a 2700k. I'd also drop your RAM down to 8GB

to answer your question: yes I'd say that card is too low end, you can do better

I'm assuming this is your card? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125385

Here are the choices I would have for you if I were to use just the money saved from replacing the i7-2700k:

MSI R6970 Lightning: ~$370 after rebate and shipping

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127581

MSI GTX 560Ti 448-core: $280 after rebate, a bit cheaper if you want to save more money

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127615

Or, if you just don't care about money and want the best under $500:

MSI R7950: $470

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127651

I'd take the R6970 Lightning. Great TFIII cooler, great card, good price

Yea, 16gb for gaming gaming is SUCH a waste, most games cant even fully utilise 6gb. If you didnt want to go for the 2500k, just get the 2600k and overclock it. Games such as BF3 will need around/more than 1.5gbvram to run smoothly on 4xmsaa, so 2gb will be really nice.

wouldn't matter, it would default to 1GB total as the 1GB card doesn't have 2GB to match up to the primary 2GB card
