Get the Powercolor 7970 PCS+ Vortex II, its one of the best (and cheapest) 7970s out there.

powercolor? meh... i'm not so sure about them. i trust sapphire for anything with an ati chipset, and i was talking about factory oc-ed gpus... so what you suggest doesn't really fit the bill. thanks tho, will keep it in mind.

cpu is here! biggrin.gif

the arrival of the cpu brings with it a huge dilemma

i have been waiting ages to complete this build. it's getting close to ten months since i've bought the first part. so, as you can imagine, i'm very anxious to actually build the thing and get it running. and here's my problem... i can actually do that now. i can actually build a running pc with the parts i have. i'm only missing the ssd and the gpu, but because the 3570k has an integrated gpu and because i already have the hdd, i can actually make a usable pc now. it's going to be at least two more months until i get the other two parts and it's going to be a lot more than that to get the missing parts for my wc loop. i'd need to install windows on the hdd now and then format the hdd and install windows on the ssd later and i wouldn't be able to play any gpu-hungry games with the integrated graphics... but it would be a running pc and it would be a huge morale boost to finally see it running, even with stock cpu cooler and integrated graphics

what do you think? wait until i have all the parts or build it now and add the rest when i can afford them?

The HD 4000 is not that bad, I have it in my Macbook Air and I can play Fallout 3 and some older games great at like high settings. I happen to play FIFA 13 great on it at the highest settings, and has kept me from dying of boredom on long trips. tongue.gif

Your sig rig has a GTX 260 perhaps that'll tide you over till you get your GPU?
